What's causing MT5 to drop around 200 times every 24 hours? - page 3

Clearview:

The broker denies any issues on their end.  I've used this on dedicated servers from 2 different companies.  Same result.  Over 200 of these drop/connect sequences.

MT5 is not useable in this situation.  Has been going on for weeks and everyone denies it's their problem.

As 3 other users including myself, in your thread have descibed your issue now, then it should be clear to you that this issue is ongoing and welknown with those and some other US brokers, albeit an intermittent issue.

Sounds to me that all of you need to find the provider of the gateway and/or failover gateway serviece and also your US ombudsman to make your issues known to them. However, you may also consider trailing a more local vps provider that is closer to that gateways geolocation and see if any improvement there.

Your solution is not a solution.  It would take years to get that through.  How is that helpful to trading today?  It's not.

Also, this is NOT an intermittent issue.  This happens every 2 minutes for hours each day.

If you have an actual solution then I'd be happy to hear it.  Otherwise, please don't comment on this thread anymore.

What's causing MT5 to drop around 200 times every 24 hours?

Sergey El, 2025.10.24 08:56

Regardless of which side the problem originated on, an investigation is impossible without the broker's server logs and a description of the broker's infrastructure. I can only advise the original poster to contact the broker's support team so that they can forward the request to MQ support.

In case you didn't know, this is official answer from MetaQuotes.

Did you contacted the broker support ?

Didn't know.  Thanks.  Have been in contact with the broker dozens of times.  Worthless so far.  Came here for MT tech support and this has also been worthless so far.

I have over 60 hours of time into trying to fix this issue.  Have tested 3 computers, 2 different dedicated server companies, made multiple changes to multiple things.  Put things back the way they were when they didn't make the issue better.  Watched hours and hours of videos, have done hours and hours of on-line searches.  Posted on here.  Have nothing to show for any of the time I've wasted.

This is a live account, not a demo account.  Oddly, demo accounts work just fine.

I understand your feelings. You are a customer of AMP, not MetaQuotes, you need to find a way to push them further.

Please also answer the questions I previously asked :

  • Do you have the same issue if you connect to an other server (broker), even a demo if you don't have a real account ?
  • Do you have this issue if you connect from your home computer ?

  • No issue on demo accounts.  Only have one live MT5 account so nothing to compare to.  Tried to open a new live account somewhere else, but they apparently didn't want the hassle because the account rep never got back to me.

No issue when using the platform on my home computer, only on vps.

Please continue to try to have a real account on an other broker, as it could be really helpful. If the issue happens too with an other broker, or not, will give us precious information.

Can you confirm which MT5 Terminal build you are using on your VPS where the issue occurs ?

After the "official" word on here from mql5/mt was to contact the broker, the broker said there is NOTHING they can do because if I can use the platform just fine from my computer it's not on their end for it dropping every 2 minutes when using vps.

I have to wonder what customer service is about these days.  No one seems to care about figuring something out.  When my wife and I owned our businesses over the years we found solutions for our clients even if the issue wasn't our fault.  It's called building relationships and having clients for 20+ years even if someone else was a little less expensive.  it's also called loyalty...something mt5 and AMP Futures will not have from me if a solution isn't found for this.  I started contacting the broker 28 days ago (the issue has been going on longer than 28 days).

Someone at MT5 needs to figure this issue out because I'm sure I'm not the only one that's having this happen.  I've read a lot of posts on here stating other people have this issue.

it sucks to live in a world where no one knows anything, no one wants to figure out an issue, no one is accountable.  Horrible.

I feel for you but after decades of trading with third-party platforms, all I can say is... get used to it. In my experience, no one is interested in trying to solve a puzzle where some other entity has the missing pieces. I learned in the heyday of MT4 that all of this is basically up to me. And when you throw your own custom code into mix, the answer is always... "your code." This is why I was so pleasantly surprised when Metaquotes fixed the web error over the weekend. I don't know whether the recent AWS "bomb" that detonated last week has anything to do with it, but there were certainly widespread outages at the time. Hopefully someone somewhere is working on it.

Yes AMP support sucks, you are their customer, they should help.

I am trying to help. Please answer the question.
