As I understand it, it's a drill and they don't get ammo, probably saving it. Either they are so lame that they can't be given ammo).

Something about the coincidence is odd. The guy was sitting there filming the chase that's on TV for some reason? Suddenly, all of a sudden, they're passing by! Strange coincidence.)
