Gold Triad XAUUSD
Gold Triad XAUUSD is a fully automated Expert Advisor built specifically for gold. It combines two independent engines in one system: a trend engine that waits for high-quality pullbacks and breakouts, and an impulse engine that trades when volatility expands. Trend entries are placed as pending orders with a fixed expiry, so the EA never chases the market; impulse entries are executed at market when an H1 candle closes beyond the recent range with a strong body.

How it works
The trend engine evaluates market conditions on every closed H1 candle. It measures trend strength, momentum and market structure, then assigns a score. When conditions are strong, it places a stop order to follow a breakout. When conditions are moderate, it places a limit order to enter on a pullback. Pending orders expire automatically if they are not filled.
The impulse engine looks for a volatility expansion. If an H1 candle closes beyond the recent range with a strong body, it enters with a market order.
Both engines share the same risk framework: balance-based position sizing, hard stop loss, take profit, trailing stop and a time-based exit. Internal calculations adapt to market volatility, so no manual tuning is required.

Backtest summary
The results below are historical and are not a guarantee of future performance. Tests used XAUUSD tick data for 2025–2026 with a constant spread of 0.107 USD.
- Fix lot 0.01, starting balance 1,000 USD: net profit +1,356 USD, final balance 2,356 USD, maximum drawdown 5.1%, profit factor 2.51, win rate 66.2%, 157 trades.
- Auto lot, starting balance 1,000 USD: net profit +9,089 USD, final balance 10,089 USD, maximum drawdown 15.1%, profit factor 2.56, win rate 66.2%, 157 trades.
- Auto lot, starting balance 300 USD: net profit +2,390 USD, final balance 2,690 USD, maximum drawdown 14.7%, profit factor 2.55, win rate 66.2%, 157 trades.
In Auto lot mode both profit and drawdown grow with the account. The fixed lot mode keeps risk constant and is recommended for the first months of live trading. All results above were produced with the supplied GoldTriad.set (Step_Money = 500).
Input parameters
- Trade_Symbol (string, default XAUUSD) — the symbol to trade. Use the exact gold symbol name of your broker, for example XAUUSD, XAUUSDm or XAUUSD.r.
- Magic_Number (integer, default 250000) — unique identifier for the EA orders. Change it only if you run several copies on the same account.
- Max_Open_Positions (integer, default 2) — maximum number of open positions and pending orders together.
- Lot_Mode (enum, default Auto lot) — Fix lot uses a constant lot size. Auto lot increases the lot as the account balance grows.
- Fixed_Lot (double, default 0.01) — base lot size and the minimum lot used in Auto lot mode.
- Step_Money (double, default 200) — in Auto lot mode, the balance required for each additional 0.01 lot. Higher value means slower lot growth and lower risk. The included set uses 500.
- Allow_Long (bool, default true) — enable or disable buy trades.
- Allow_Short (bool, default true) — enable or disable sell trades.
- Show_Panel (bool, default true) — show the information panel on the chart.
Recommended setup
- Symbol: XAUUSD (or your broker's gold symbol)
- Chart timeframe: H1 (the EA uses H1, H4 and D1 data internally, so the chart timeframe does not change the logic)
- Starting deposit: 300 USD or more with 0.01 lot
- Leverage: 1:100 or higher
- A low-spread account and a VPS are recommended
