A self-learning pattern-memory trading system for Gold (XAUUSD) – capital protection first, experience-based decisions.
What it is Emily Gold Trader is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 developed for Gold (XAUUSD) on the M15 timeframe. It combines two independent signal sources with a strict risk management framework – designed for traders who want a disciplined, rule-based approach to gold trading.
Works on small and large accounts Emily works on small accounts (from 1,000 EUR/USD) as well as on larger accounts. Position sizing is fully automatic: the risk per trade is calculated as a percentage of the current account equity (default 0.5 %), so the system scales naturally with your account size – no manual lot calculation needed.
Account size guideline: The system works from 1,000 EUR/USD. However, the configured risk (default 0.5 % per trade) is exactly applied only from approx. 3,000 EUR/USD (depending on gold volatility, 2,000–4,000). On smaller accounts the broker's minimum lot size (0.01) takes over, so the EA effectively trades with MORE risk than the configured 0.5 % (at 1,000 EUR/USD roughly 1–1.5 % per trade) and equity swings grow. Emily is designed to protect capital first – please test on a demo account and adjust the risk to your personal situation.
How it works – three layers of decision-making
- Neural Signal Engine (v5-Mentor): A trained neural network analyses 39 market features in real time (price structure, momentum, volatility, trend strength) and produces a probability estimate for three outcomes: up, down, or sideways. No single indicator decides – the network weighs the whole picture.
- Experience-Based Pattern Memory ("Emily"): Emily carries a memory of historical M15 patterns. Before every trade, the current 96-bar price pattern is compared against this memory using statistical pattern matching (Pearson correlation). Only when the current market situation resembles stored patterns with sufficient confidence does the signal reach the entry stage – and a matching historical pattern can confirm or block the neural signal. It is like a second, independent advisor drawing on years of market experience.
- Decision Filters + Risk Management: Even a confirmed signal must pass the regime filters (MACD trend filter, ADX trend-strength filter) and the risk checks (spread, economic news) before a position is opened.
Capital protection first Emily puts capital protection before profit chasing – every trade is surrounded by protective measures:
- Percentage-based position sizing (default 0.5 % risk per trade) – the loss on a single trade is always limited
- Max drawdown brake – a configurable equity-loss limit stops the system before deep drawdowns
- Breakeven protection – the stop moves to entry once the trade is sufficiently in profit
- Time stop – positions are closed after a configurable maximum holding time (no "stuck" trades)
- Spread filter – blocks entries during abnormal spreads
- News filter – optional trading pause around high-impact economic events
- Winner-Run trailing – lets winners run, but only with the stop locked in profit
