EZ Trading Assistant

EZ Trading Assistant is an MT5 Expert Advisor that adds an on-chart control panel for preparing, opening, and managing trades - including Auto Lot sizing, Break Even, Trailing Stop Loss, and Partial Closes - across up to 5 independent trades at once.

It applies a concept of preparing your buy or sell order before executing to prevent accidentally pressing the wrong button and opening a trade in the wrong direction.

1. Getting Started

1. Attach EZTradingAssistant to a chart for the symbol you want to trade.
2. Review the in the EA's Properties dialog and adjust the defaults to your preference (lot size, default SL/TP distance, Break Even behaviour, etc).
3. Make sure AutoTrading is enabled in the toolbar - the panel will still display without it, but no trades can be opened or modified and also that EA support is allowed on the trading server you use (some prop firms don't enable this by default)
4. The control panel appears docked in the top-left corner of the chart as soon as the EA attaches.

3. Active Trades (T1-T5)

Every trade opened through the panel is automatically assigned to one of five numbered slots (T1 to T5), shown as buttons 1 - 5 at the top of the panel. Each slot tracks its own independent:

• Auto Break Even settings
• Trailing Stop Loss state
• Partial close progress

Click a slot's number button to select it - the panel's Break Even and Trailing SL controls then edit that specific trade. The selected slot is highlighted brighter than the others; slots holding a trade but not currently selected are dimly lit; empty slots are grey and not clickable.

If the EA or terminal restarts while trades are still open, it automatically re-attaches each open position to its original T1-T5 slot and resumes tracking its Break Even/Trailing/Partials state from wherever the position currently stands.

4. Preparing a Trade

"Preparing" a trade draws a draggable Entry (for pending orders), Take Profit, and Stop Loss line on the chart so you can visually fine-tune the setup before it's sent to the broker. Nothing is actually opened until you click Execute Prepared Order.

Market vs. Pending

Starting a new "Prepare" always resets Entry, SL, TP and the Auto BE section back to their configured defaults, so leftover settings from a different trade never carry over by accident.

Dragging the lines

• Click and drag the TP or SL line (or its label) up/down to adjust it.
• While preparing a pending order, the Entry line is also draggable - TP and SL move together with it, preserving their distance (Points mode) or their exact prices (Price mode).
• Lines are drawn so they never render underneath the panel itself.

Points vs. Price mode

Both TP and SL can independently be set in one of two modes, toggled with the Pts / Price buttons next to each:

• Pts - a distance in points from the entry price. Recalculates automatically as the entry moves.
• Price - a fixed price level that does not move with the entry.

5. Auto Lot Sizing

When Auto Lot Calc is enabled, the position size is calculated automatically so that if the Stop Loss is hit, the loss equals the configured Risk % of your account balance. When disabled, the fixed value in the Lots field is used instead.

6. Break Even

When using % of TP mode, if the position has no Take Profit set (or Trailing SL has removed it - see below), the trigger still calculates against the default TP distance, so Auto BE keeps working even without a live broker-side TP.

7. Trailing Stop Loss

Activate Trailing SL switches the selected trade from a fixed Take Profit to a trailing Stop Loss:

• The position's Take Profit is removed the moment you activate it.
• As price moves in your favour, the Stop Loss is continuously pulled up (for a Buy) or down (for a Sell) to stay the configured number of points behind the best price reached so far.
• The Stop Loss only ever moves in your favour, never backward.
• To avoid flooding the broker with requests, the best price is tracked every tick, but the actual Stop Loss is only updated on the server at most twice per second.
• Click the button again to deactivate trailing - the Stop Loss stays wherever it last was; the Take Profit is not restored automatically.

8. Partial Closes

Click Configure Partials to open the Partials screen, where up to five levels (P1-P5) can each close a percentage of the original lot size once price reaches a percentage of the way from Entry to Take Profit to lock in profit gradually.

The vertical bar on the right of this screen shows a to-scale visual of where each enabled level sits between Entry (EP) and Take Profit (TP), plus how much volume would remain for the broker's native TP to close.

• Click Save/Apply to commit your changes - the configuration is validated first (for example, the total of all enabled levels' Close% must stay under 100%).
• Click < Back to return to the main panel and discard any unsaved changes.

Partial close configuration is shared across all trades, but each trade slot tracks its own "already triggered" progress independently, based on its own original lot size.

9. Executing, Closing & Cancelling

• Execute Prepared Order - sends whatever is currently prepared. Disabled (greyed out) when nothing is being prepared.
• Close All Trades - closes every open position belonging to this EA (matching its magic number and the chart's symbol) and cancels every one of its resting pending orders, even ones placed before an EA/terminal restart.

11. Tips & Troubleshooting

• Always check the Experts/Journal tab in the MT5 terminal for detailed log messages - every action (opening, modifying, closing, Auto BE trigger, Trailing SL update, slot assignment) prints a line explaining what happened.
• If a trade doesn't appear to be tracked in any of the T1-T5 slots, check the log for a "Trade slot activated" or "All trade slots are full" message.
• Auto BE, Trailing SL and Partials only run for trades tracked in an Active Trade slot - trades opened outside the panel (e.g. manually, or by another EA) are not managed by EZ Trading Assistant.
• Only one Buy-side and one Sell-side pending order can be armed at a time - preparing a new one on the same side replaces (cancels) any order already resting.
