Overview
Patient King is a mean-reversion grid Expert Advisor originally developed and optimized for AUD/CAD on the 5-minute chart. It waits for price to stretch away from its average before entering, then manages a capped grid of positions with ATR-based spacing until the basket reaches its take-profit target. Built-in risk controls include drawdown protection, a news filter, and a hard cap on grid stacking to limit exposure.

Recommendations & Settings
Minimum Balance
Depends on the Auto Lot risk level selected — ranges from $300 (Extreme risk) up to $2,400 (Very Low risk) per 0.01 lot of exposure. Lower balances with higher risk settings mean larger lot sizes relative to account size and less room for the grid to run before drawdown protection intervenes; we recommend starting with a balance on the higher end of your chosen risk tier, and using a more conservative risk level (Low-Medium or lower) on smaller accounts.
Account Type
Hedging-enabled MT4 account (the standard account type at most MT4 brokers). Required because the EA can hold multiple same-direction grid positions simultaneously on one symbol.
Recommended Timeframes
M5 (5-minute) — the timeframe the EA was designed and optimized on. Other timeframes can be tested at your own discretion but are not officially supported.
Recommended Pairs
AUD/CAD (primary, optimized pair). Other pairs can be tested but performance is not guaranteed outside this configuration — always backtest/demo first before switching pairs.

Setup Instructions
- Attach the EA to an AUD/CAD, 5-minute chart
- Enable AutoTrading in MT4
- To use the News Filter, go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors and add https://nfs.faireconomy.media to the list of allowed URLs for WebRequest — without this, the news filter will not receive calendar data
- Review and adjust the risk/lot-sizing inputs to match your account size and risk tolerance
- Test on a demo account before running live
