MelloSecondsChart Seconds Timeframe Charts

MetaTrader 5 has no timeframe below one minute. MelloSecondsChart builds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 second bars from the real ticks of your chart symbol and stores them in a custom symbol, such as XAUUSD_S10. Open its M1 chart and every bar is one seconds bar, so you can use any indicator, EA or drawing on it. It never trades.

How it works

• Attach it to the chart of the symbol you want and choose the seconds per bar
• It builds history from recent ticks (up to 7 days) and keeps adding new bars live
• It opens the seconds chart for you, and a button opens it again
• Prices are the bid, the same as normal MT5 charts, with tick count and maximum spread per bar
• When the market is closed you still see the last hours from tick history

Important to know

• Each seconds bar is stored as one M1 bar of the custom symbol, so the time axis of that chart counts bars and is not clock time. A label on the chart shows the real server time of the latest bar.
• Periods without ticks have no bar.
• Indicators that rely on clock time, such as sessions or a daily VWAP, are not correct on a seconds chart.
• Custom symbols cannot be traded. Place orders on the real symbol.
• Keep the source chart with the EA open, or new bars stop.
• In the Strategy Tester no custom symbol is created. The EA builds bars in memory and shows its panel.

Accuracy

In our tests every complete minute of seconds bars added up exactly to MetaTrader 5's own M1 bar (open, high, low and close): 45,814 minutes in the Strategy Tester, including real ticks, and 955 minutes on three symbols on a demo account. Bars written to the custom symbol read back the same.
