Gold Trend Sentinel is a long-only trend-following Expert Advisor designed for XAUUSD (Gold). It enters the market only when a multi-layer trend confirmation has aligned on the higher timeframe, and it always protects every position with a hard Stop Loss and Take Profit placed at order time.

Strategy highlights

  • Multi-filter trend confirmation — entries require several independent trend and momentum conditions to agree before any trade is opened.
  • Higher-timeframe regime filter — the EA trades only in the direction of the dominant higher-timeframe trend and stands aside otherwise.
  • Volatility / candle-quality rules — abnormal volatility conditions and oversized candles are skipped to avoid chasing spikes.
  • Hard SL / TP on every order — protective levels are attached at order time and adapt dynamically to current market volatility. No martingale, no grid, no averaging, no hedging.

Risk management

  • Fixed-fractional position sizing: risk per trade as % of equity.
  • Automatic lot normalization to the broker's MINLOT / MAXLOT / LOTSTEP; if the calculated volume falls below the broker minimum, the entry is skipped and the required minimum capital is printed in the journal.
  • Free-margin pre-check before every order (AccountFreeMarginCheck).
  • Transient server errors (requote / busy / price-off) are retried up to 3 times; all other errors are logged once and never looped.

Recommended usage

  • Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold). Timeframe: H1 (chart), higher-timeframe filters built in.
  • Minimum recommended equity: 500 USD per 0.01 lot block (adjust to your broker's contract specification and leverage).
  • Works on any broker; ECN accounts recommended.
  • Backtest on your own broker's data before going live; results differ between brokers due to spread, swap and slippage.
