Mario Draghi

Mario Draghi (born 3 September 1947) is an Italian economist, manager and banker who on 1 November 2011 became the third president of the European Central Bank.

He was previously the governor of the Bank of Italy from December 2005 until October 2011. In 2014 Forbes nominated Draghi 8th most powerful person in the world.

Before taking the top job at the ECB, he held an impressive range of positions in academia, business and the public sector, and his affable manner should not blind anyone to the fact that he has a razor-sharp mind and is a skillful negotiator, “Time” magazine says.
