Talon Silver Yen Portfolio: Setup Manual (v2.21)

This manual explains how to install and check Talon Silver Yen Portfolio (version 2.21) in MetaTrader 5. The Expert Advisor runs as one account-level portfolio across three charts: XAGUSD (silver), EURJPY and USDJPY.

1. What you need

• MetaTrader 5 with Algo Trading enabled.
• A trading account of at least 1,000 USD (or equivalent). Hedging and netting accounts are both supported.
• A broker that offers XAGUSD, EURJPY and USDJPY. Check the contract specifications for silver and the yen pairs with your broker.
• A VPS is recommended so all three charts stay active.

2. Download the presets

The three preset files are attached to a comment on the product page: download the SET files.

• TalonV2 XAGUSD M15.set, for the XAGUSD M15 chart
• TalonV2 EURJPY M15.set, for the EURJPY M15 chart
• TalonV2 USDJPY M5.set, for the USDJPY M5 chart

Save them in your terminal's MQL5\Presets folder (File, Open Data Folder), or keep them anywhere you can browse to from the Inputs tab.

3. Open the three charts

Open one chart for each market: XAGUSD on M15, EURJPY on M15 and USDJPY on M5. Symbol suffixes used by some brokers (for example XAGUSD.a or XAGUSDm) are fine: the Expert Advisor recognises the market from the symbol name.

4. Attach the Expert Advisor and load the preset

1. In the Navigator, open Expert Advisors, then Market, and drag Talon Silver Yen Portfolio onto the first chart.
2. On the Common tab, allow Algo Trading.
3. On the Inputs tab, click Load and choose the preset for that chart's symbol.
4. Click OK. Repeat for the other two charts, each with its own preset.

Use one copy of the Expert Advisor per chart. Do not attach two copies to the same symbol.

5. Inputs

• RiskScalePercent = 100: the validated profile used in the published studies. 50 halves the sizing profile.
• UseFixedLot = false: keep false to use the volatility-adjusted sizing. FixedLotSize is only used when UseFixedLot is true.
• MagicNumberOverride = 0: 0 assigns an automatic magic number per market (XAGUSD 320506, EURJPY 320501, USDJPY 320404). Change it only if another Expert Advisor on the account uses the same number.
• SlippagePoints = 50: the maximum price deviation accepted when an order is sent.
• EnableLogging = true: prints a message in the Experts tab when a trade is reduced or skipped because free margin is too low. Include these lines with any support question.

6. Check that each chart loaded correctly

After attaching, open the Experts tab in the Toolbox. Each chart prints one start-up line with its market profile, for example:

TalonV2 is the name of the trading engine inside the program. Check that the profile matches the chart: XAGUSD_M15, EURJPY_M15 or USDJPY_M5. If you see "has no calibrated profile - generic profile loaded", the chart is not one of the three markets. Remove the Expert Advisor from that chart and attach it to the correct symbol.

7. Size the account as one portfolio

The account carries the combined risk of all three charts. Do not size each chart as if it were a separate account. EURJPY and USDJPY both carry yen exposure and can respond to the same currency move. If the combined risk is more than you want, set RiskScalePercent to 50 on all three charts.

Every position opens with a stop loss and profit target. Stops are requests rather than guarantees: gaps, slippage, spread, commission, contract specifications and symbol mapping can change execution.

8. Test before you buy

Download the free Market demo and run it in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester on each of the three symbols and timeframes above, with the matching preset loaded. Use your broker's own history and compare the results with its spread and commission. The Market demo runs only in the Strategy Tester; it does not trade a live account.

9. Live reference and support

A real-money reference account runs the same three-market configuration on MQL5 Signals. The account is new and its trade count is small, so treat it as a view of current fills and behavior, not as proof of the historical study.
