Dow Theory direction on every timeframe, in one panel.
DowgatorPro2 finds swing highs and lows automatically and judges the Dow Theory direction (up or down) with confirmed bars only. The result is drawn on the chart and summarized in a small panel for M1 to D1, so you do not have to switch timeframes to know which way each one is pointing.
What you see on the chart
- Dow Theory line: swing highs and lows joined by a line. You choose how many bars on each side define a swing, and whether wicks or bodies are used.
- Direction moving average: blue while the direction is up, red while it is down. Small arrows mark bars that broke the last swing; a large arrow marks the first bar of a reversal.
- Reversal line: a dashed line at the price where the current direction would flip (the swing low while up, the swing high while down).
- Higher timeframe overlay (MTF): the direction of a higher timeframe (M5 to MN) drawn on the same chart, for example H1 on an M5 chart or D1 on an H1 chart.
- Panel: directions of M1, M5, M15, H1, H4 and D1 plus the control buttons. Drag the title bar to move it, click [-] to collapse it into one line.
Alerts
- Reversal alert when the previous bar changed the direction.
- Alignment alert when the timeframes you choose (for example M15, H1 and H4) all point the same way.
- Alert window, e-mail and push notification to the MetaTrader mobile app.
Details
- Calculation uses confirmed bars only. Past arrows and lines do not change after the bar closes.
- Works on any symbol and any timeframe.
- Panel language: English or Japanese.
- No DLL, no external connection.
Inputs (main)
- Swing bars on each side (default 3)
- Bars to calculate (default 10,000)
- Higher timeframe values: closed bars only (default) or include the forming bar
- MA period, method and price for the direction moving average
