Compare Discipline and Loyalty

Onyx Dual Gold brings Discipline and Loyalty into one MT5 Expert Advisor. Enable either model or evaluate both, and choose how to allocate exposure. The shared panel helps you review their operating state. Compare each model in the Strategy Tester before using a combined configuration.

What you control

  • Enable either model or evaluate both together.
  • Choose percentage-based risk allocation or the same exact fixed lot per enabled strategy.
  • Control entry eligibility with separate spread settings and optional calendar and session restrictions.
  • Use the optional daily equity guard while understanding its scope and restart behaviour.

The two models use different entry processes. This gives you two processes to evaluate, not a promise of diversification, lower drawdown or higher returns. Combined exposure matters even when the models are configured separately.

The ONYX approach

ONYX approaches trading as an engineering task: define entry rules, calculate exposure, specify management and examine the resulting orders and executions in testing. Historical checks help evaluate behaviour; they do not certify future returns.

Onyx Dual Gold is part of the five-product ONYX lineup. This listing covers Onyx Dual Gold only, not a bundle of all five products.

Requirements and operating limits

A MetaTrader 5 hedging account is required. Evaluate the product on your broker's gold symbol and check contract size, price units, tick value, volume constraints, stops, margin and execution costs. No universal minimum deposit or broker compatibility is promised. Keep the terminal connected, running and authorized for algorithmic trading. A VPS is optional infrastructure and is not included.

The daily guard measures equity against its retained day-start reference, which can reset on restart; it is not a peak-equity or prop-firm guarantee. When triggered it can close this bot's exposure and pause entries until the next day. Equity can be affected by other account activity. Tester news uses retained historical scheduling; live operation uses the MT5 calendar, and calendar failure does not guarantee an entry pause. The optional simulated-execution Inputs are tester-only stress controls: they do not introduce artificial delays or slippage in live trading.

Sizing: behaviour introduced in version 1.06

Version 1.06 starts with a fixed lot of 0.01 per enabled strategy. Fixed mode submits the same selected lot for Discipline and Loyalty; allocation weights do not multiply it. A fixed volume that violates broker minimum, maximum or step rules is rejected without rounding it up. Percentage sizing remains available and allocates an equity-based budget between enabled models using their relative weights. If the budget cannot support the broker minimum volume, the entry is skipped. Percentage sizing uses the normalized initial stop distance, including selected tester-only stress settings when enabled. Neither mode is an account-wide loss cap. Both strategies can hold exposure simultaneously. Pre-entry margin and price checks cannot reserve margin for future pending activation. Commissions, swaps, slippage and gaps can increase losses.

Inputs: identification

  • InpEAName: Displayed bot name; does not change strategy selection.
  • InpEAVersion: Displayed version text; does not change the executable build.

Inputs: lot and risk

  • InpLotCalcMode: Select automatic risk profile, custom percentage or fixed size. Sizing is not a guaranteed loss cap.
  • InpAutoRiskMode: Used only with automatic risk profile; predefined risk selection.
  • InpRiskPercent: Equity-based percentage budget allocated between enabled strategies. Used in custom percentage mode only; not an account-wide loss cap.
  • InpDisciplineRatio: Relative Discipline allocation in percentage modes only. Ignored in fixed mode.
  • InpLoyaltyRatio: Relative Loyalty allocation in percentage modes only. Ignored in fixed mode.
  • InpFixedLot: Exact lot per enabled strategy in fixed mode. For example, 0.01 means 0.01 for each strategy, not a weighted 0.03. Broker-incompatible volumes are rejected.

  • InpMaxSpreadPts_Discipline: Maximum spread for Discipline entries, in broker points.
  • InpUseSpreadFilter_Loyalty: Enable the spread restriction for new Loyalty entries.
  • InpMaxSpreadPoints_Loyalty: Maximum spread for Loyalty entries, in broker points.

  • InpUseGlobalDailyDD: Enable DUAL daily equity-drawdown guard; it can close this bot’s exposure and pause entries until a new day.
  • InpGlobalMaxDailyDDPct: Daily equity drawdown threshold for the enabled DUAL guard; not a peak-equity guarantee.

  • InpUseGlobalNewsFilter: Enable the news-entry restriction. Historical scheduling is used in the tester; live operation uses the MT5 calendar. If calendar data cannot be retrieved, this filter does not block new entries.
  • InpNewsStopBeforeMin: Pause duration before a relevant news event, in minutes.
  • InpNewsStopAfterMin: Pause duration after a relevant news event, in minutes.

Inputs: holidays

  • InpUseGlobalHolidayFilter: Enable the retained holiday calendar restriction.

Inputs: trading hours

  • InpUseFridayTradingFilter: Enable Friday trading-hours restriction.
  • InpAllowFridayTrading: Permit Friday entries within the allowed session.
  • InpFridayStartHour: Friday start hour in broker server time.
  • InpFridayEndHour: Friday end hour in broker server time.

  • InpShowDashboard: Display the information panel; it does not authorize trading.

  • InpBT_Enable: Enable the existing tester-only execution-stress simulation. It does not add artificial delays or slippage in live trading.
  • InpBT_ExecDelayMs: Simulated tester entry delay, milliseconds; used only when tester simulation is enabled.
  • InpBT_ModifyDelayMs: Simulated tester stop-modification delay, milliseconds.
  • InpBT_SlippageMode: Select fixed or random-range simulated tester slippage.

Evaluate before live use

Start with the Market demo in the Strategy Tester using your broker's data. Review individual trades, drawdown, costs and logs. If the behaviour meets your requirements, choose purchase or one-month rental and evaluate the licensed version on a demo account before committing real funds. Backtests and screenshots show historical operation, not verified live performance or a forecast.

Purchase, rental and support

Licensing and installation are handled by MQL5 Market. The Market demo runs in the Strategy Tester; it is not a free live-account trial. Activations relate to hardware and operating-system configurations under Market rules, not five separate trading-account licences. Plan for open positions before rental expiry: the Expert Advisor stops managing them when its licence expires. Support is available through MQL5 messages and product comments.
