ReturnToOpen Pro EA MT5

ReturnToOpen Pro EA is a fully automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 based on a classic Return-to-Open / Mean Reversion strategy. The EA uses the session open price as the main reference level and looks for extended price movements that may return back toward the opening price.

The strategy can be useful for markets that often show short-term overextensions after the session open, such as DAX, indices, Forex, or other liquid instruments.

How does the strategy work?

The EA stores the session open price at a user-defined UTC time. After that, it waits until the current price moves far enough away from the session open.

If the price deviation is large enough and all filters are valid, the EA opens a position in the direction of the expected return:

• Price clearly below the session open → possible long trade
• Price clearly above the session open → possible short trade

The target is placed near the session open price, with an optional buffer.

Flexible Session Settings

All key times are configured in UTC:

• Session open time
• Trade start time
• Trade end time
• Optional automatic closing at session end

This makes the EA flexible for different markets, brokers, and trading sessions.

ATR-Based Distance Filter

The EA can calculate the required minimum and maximum distance from the session open dynamically using ATR.

Benefits:

• Adapts to current market volatility
• Avoids fixed values during changing market conditions
• Helps filter movements that are too small or too extreme

Fixed point-based distance values can also be used.

RSI Filter

The built-in RSI filter helps identify overbought and oversold market conditions.

Examples:

• Long trades only when RSI is below a defined level
• Short trades only when RSI is above a defined level

This provides additional confirmation for the mean reversion logic.

ADX Filter

The ADX filter can help avoid strong trending phases. Since Return-to-Open strategies often perform better in less directional markets, a maximum ADX value can be defined.

Candle Confirmation

The EA can optionally use candle confirmation on a selected timeframe, for example M5.

This may help reduce entries during unstable or fast-moving price action.

Automatic Risk Management

ReturnToOpen Pro EA can calculate lot size automatically based on a configurable risk percentage.

Trade Management
