Hyacinth Macaw EA is an EURUSD H1 basket system that combines a momentum entry with a controlled averaging ladder.
How it works
- First leg: MACD (12/26/9) timing plus a 6-bar extreme, confirmed by the Ichimoku cloud trend filter.
- Additional legs: a ladder of up to 19 legs per side (lot factor 1.4 per step) when price moves against the basket.
- The basket closes when profit plus swap reaches the target (10 USD per lot unit).
- Account guard: stops opening new trades if equity falls below a set % of deposit; cooldown after failed orders.
- Lot can be fixed (default 0.01) or scaled by balance (InpBalancePerUnit).
Backtest (see the first screenshot: equity curve of the best backtest)
EURUSD H1, real ticks, 2025.01 - 2026.11, deposit 10,000 USD, 1:500, InpBalancePerUnit=5000 (0.01 lot per 5,000 USD):
net profit +8,883 USD, maximum equity drawdown 34.7%, no failed orders. The account never blew up during the test. The built-in margin guard InpMaxMarginPct (default 30% of equity) was added after this test; set it to 0 to reproduce the test exactly.
With the default fixed 0.01 lot the same period gives +3,760 USD with 19.1% equity drawdown.
Recommendations
- Symbol: EURUSD, timeframe H1, hedging account.
- Recommended minimum deposit: 7,000 USD per 0.01 fixed lot (worst measured equity drawdown at 0.01 lot was about 2,100 USD).
- This is an averaging (grid/martingale-type) strategy without a hard stop: drawdown can be deep. Use conservative sizing.
