Midas Gold Trader The market-phase guardian: a regime-AI that detects the market phase and automatically selects the right toolset – capital protection first. A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO TRADING Trading is often seen as a competition in which you have to be part of every move. Midas Gold Trader takes a different approach: it trades like a patient guardian that watches the market instead of chasing it. Many combinations of indicators, oscillators and market mechanics were examined, combined and discarded until a system emerged that stays robust – even in uncertain conditions. The guiding principle is always: better not to trade than to catch a bad trade. WHAT IT IS Midas Gold Trader is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, developed for Gold (XAUUSD) on the M15 timeframe. Midas is a "guardian": it constantly recognises the market phase and automatically selects the right toolset – so it never forces a trend strategy into a sideways market, or a range strategy into a breakout. THE TWO-PHASE SYSTEM Midas distinguishes between two fundamentally different market phases and treats them differently. 1. SIDEWAYS PHASE The market moves sideways within a range. Breakouts often fail quickly. Midas uses the range toolset: Bollinger band reversion and pattern matching, with tighter SL/TP targets for quick, controlled hits. 2. BREAKOUT PHASE The market breaks out with rising volatility and rising ADX trend strength. Midas uses the trend toolset: neural signal engine, MACD and ADX trend filter. DETECTING THE PHASE The market phase is analysed in real time using ADX trend strength, Bollinger Bands and ATR expansion. In a sideways market (low ADX) Midas selects the range toolset. In a breakout (high ADX, ATR expansion) it selects the trend toolset. A hysteresis (confirmation over several bars) prevents nervous switching between the toolsets. THE EXPERIENCE MEMORY Midas carries a memory of historical M15 patterns in market. The current pattern is compared with similar historical patterns using Pearson correlation – a matching historical pattern confirms or blocks the signal. Midas only takes trades that match situations it already knows.
