Spread Gold Radar
What is Spread Gold Radar?
Spread Gold Radar is a lightweight tool that shows your broker's current spread in real time and makes even short, sharp spikes immediately visible on a clean, colour-coded panel. It is built exclusively for Gold (XAUUSD) quoted with 2 decimal places.
Why it matters?
In Gold scalping especially, the spread often decides whether a trade closes in profit, at a loss, or not at all. The very same trade can run into profit at one broker and into the Stop-Loss – or a Stop-Out – at another. The spread is also a variable that brokers widen during volatile phases, often at exactly the moments your EA is most exposed. Keeping an eye on it helps you understand what your execution really costs.
"But my broker says $0.10"
Your broker usually quotes the minimum or average spread, almost never the maximum. The maximum can reach 100 points or more. For any spread-sensitive EA that is a problem – but it is the broker's problem, not the EA's. Spread Gold Radar makes it visible.
The tool is built for Gold brokers with 2-decimal quotes. There, 1 point = $0.01 (1 cent). All levels are defined on that basis.
The current spread is shown large in points, with its value in USD and a scale bar that fills as the spread rises.
Colour and bar follow a simple traffic light:
- NORMAL (green): below the warning level
- WARNING (yellow): at or above the warning level
- DANGER (red): at or above the danger level
The bar carries two reference marks at the warning and danger levels, so you can read the situation at a glance. Default levels are 30 points ($0.30) for warning and 80 points ($0.80) for danger, and both are adjustable.

- Adjustable levels: set warning and danger exactly to your broker and your style.
- Alerts: popup and/or sound, so you do not have to watch the chart to catch a spread spike.
- Journal logging: records (from the warning level, or only on danger) when and how often your broker widens the spread – useful for comparing brokers over time.
- Two panel styles: a large card with gauge, or a slim one-line ticker.
- Accent colours: Gray, Blue, Red, Purple, Gold.
- Free placement: any of the four chart corners, plus drag-and-drop with the mouse.
