Matching Low Trading System automatically detects the Matching Low candlestick pattern — a precise 2-bar bullish reversal signal that forms when two consecutive bearish candles close at virtually the same price level. The matching closes create a natural double-bottom support floor: sellers pushed price down twice, and both times they failed to close below the same level. That repeated failure signals exhausted selling pressure and an impending bullish reversal.
Introductory Pricing: This indicator is offered at introductory pricing that increases based on sales milestones. The current price is $49. After 10 sales, the price increases to $59. After 30 sales, it increases to $69. After 60 sales, the final price of $79 takes effect. All buyers receive the same full-featured indicator regardless of purchase price.
A. Introduction & Pattern Overview
The Matching Low is a bullish-only pattern — every signal generated is a long (buy) opportunity. There is no bearish variant. The pattern's power lies in its simplicity: two candles, two matching lows, one clear message — support is holding and buyers are taking over.
Pattern Structure:
- Candle 1 — A bearish candle that pushes the market lower, establishing the support close level
- Candle 2 — A second bearish candle that attempts to push lower but closes at (or very near) the same level as Candle 1
When both closes align within a tight tolerance (measured as a fraction of ATR), the pattern is confirmed. A pending buy stop order is then placed above the high of Candle 2, ensuring entry only when price actually reverses upward — no premature entries on still-declining price.

C. Quality Scoring — 5-Factor Engine
Every detected pattern receives a quality score from 0.00 to 1.00 based on five weighted factors:
| Factor | Weight | What It Measures |
|---|---|---|
| Close Match | 25% | Precision of the two matching closes — tighter = higher score |
| Candle Body Size | 22% | Body strength of both candles relative to ATR |
| Lower Shadow Score | 20% | Smallness of lower wicks — confirms sellers did not push through the level |
| Relative Body | 18% | Body-to-range ratio — high ratio means cleaner, more decisive candles |
| Overlap Ratio | 15% | How much the two candles overlap in range — tight overlap = well-formed pattern |
Detection Preset System:
- Standard — Relaxed thresholds, balanced signal frequency (~5% detection rate). Recommended starting point.
- Strict — Original spec thresholds, fewer but higher-confidence signals (~1% detection rate)
- Custom — Full manual control over all 5 detection parameters
Quality threshold default: 0.30 (relaxed). Raise to 0.50–0.70 for higher selectivity.
D. Filter Chain & Safety Features
A 7-layer filter chain protects against low-quality and contextually inappropriate signals:
- Quality Filter — Rejects patterns below the minimum quality score
- Extreme Zone Filter — Blocks buy signals when price is already in an overbought zone (Donchian-based channel position)
- Direction Filter — Respects market structure regime; can block signals against the prevailing trend
- Stoploss Hunt Filter — Validates that the pattern follows a genuine liquidity sweep rather than random noise
- Signal Zone Filter — Confirms signal appears near a structurally significant swing or BOS/CHOCH event
- Spacing Filter — Enforces minimum bar gap between consecutive signals to prevent clustering
- Opposite Signal Filter — Soft-blocks new signals when a conflicting active signal is already open
E. How to Use — Quick Start
- Attach the indicator to any chart (recommended: XAUUSD H1 for first use)
- Click OK to use default settings
- The indicator scans historical bars and plots any recent MLW signals with entry, SL, and TP lines
- Wait for a new signal — a green arrow and quality label appear when a pattern is confirmed
- The pending buy stop entry line shows where price must reach to activate the trade
- Use the MTF Scanner to monitor the same pattern across multiple symbols and timeframes
- Enable push or email alerts in the Alerts section to receive signals away from your desk
Recommended workflow:
- Start with Standard preset + Min Quality 0.30
- After one week, review signal history and raise quality threshold if signal frequency is too high
- Enable the Extreme Zone Filter to avoid buying into already-extended moves
- Use Strict preset on H4/D1 for swing trading — fewer signals, higher conviction
F. Settings Overview
Signal Detection:
- ATR Period: 14 (volatility measurement period)
- Max Bars to Scan: 3000 (historical depth on load)
- Min Bars Between Patterns: 3 (spacing to prevent signal clusters)
Detection Thresholds (Custom preset):
- Max Close Match xATR: 0.25 Std / 0.10 Strict
- Min Candle1 Body/ATR: 0.05 Std / 0.10 Strict
- Min Candle2 Body/ATR: 0.02 Std / 0.05 Strict
- Min Candle1 Range/ATR: 0.05 Std / 0.10 Strict
- Max Lower Shadow Ratio: 0.40 Std / 0.20 Strict
Trade Management:
- SL Methods: Donchian Channel (default) / ATR-based / Pattern-based
- TP Levels: 4 levels at R:R 1.0 / 1.5 / 2.0 / 3.0
- Entry: Pending buy stop above Candle 2 high + buffer
Best Markets & Timeframes:
- XAUUSD (Gold): Excellent on H1 / H4
- Major forex pairs (EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY): All timeframes above M15
- Indices (US30, NAS100): H4 / D1
- Works on any symbol and timeframe
