Why Equity Outperforms Credit

10 3月 2016, 06:25
In my new paper on asset allocation I go into quite a bit of detail about why certain asset classes generate the returns they do. Understanding this is useful when thinking in a macro sense and trying to gauge why financial assets perform in certain ways in both the short-term and the long-term...

Variance is a very important component in the life of traders – and an even bigger one for those that pursue a full-time trading career. You can’t forecast your profits as a trader; you never know when the market conditions will change and negatively impact your trading methodology.

EUR/USD: Neutral: Still neutral with key levels at 1.0900 and 1.0100.

There is not much to add as the recent short-term EUR strength struggles to maintain its momentum. The outlook is still viewed as neutral and as mentioned in recent updates, only a strong daily closing above 1.1005/10 would indicate that EUR is ready to move higher. In the meanwhile, this pair is expected to trade sideways with 1.0900 and 1.1100 acting as key levels.

GBP/USD: Neutral: Recovery could extend further to 1.4400.

While the short-term upward momentum has clearly eased, it is too early to expect a mid-term top. The current movement is likely part of a consolidation phase and as long as 1.4050 is intact, another attempt to move higher to test the major 1.4400 resistance cannot be ruled out just yet.

Reports indicate that some of the stolen funds were traced to the Philippines, but given what we know about the "Cyber Axis of Evil," we can only suspect it was Iranians, Chinese, or the criminal/military mastermind Kim Jong-Un who was behind the scam, but whatever the case, someone, somewhere, h...
