Prop Firm Guard Daily Drawdown Limiter

Prop Firm Guard protects your account from breaking the rules of a prop firm challenge or your own risk plan. It watches the whole account – all symbols, all EAs and manual trades – from one chart.

What it does

  • Daily loss limit: measured from the balance at the start of the trading day (or the higher of balance and equity, as many prop firms do).
  • Maximum drawdown: static from the initial account size or trailing from the highest equity.
  • Daily profit target (optional): locks in a good day and pauses trading.
  • When a limit is reached, the guard closes all open positions, deletes pending orders and closes any new trade until the next trading day. The maximum drawdown lock stays until you unlock it on the panel (double click for safety).
  • Warning at a level you choose (default 80 % of a limit) with pop-up and push notification.
  • Clear panel: today's result, drawdown, target progress, open positions, rules and an event log. Dark and light theme, can be minimised.
  • State is saved, so a restart of the terminal does not reset the day.

How to use

  1. Attach Prop Firm Guard to any one chart. Enable Algo Trading.
  2. Enter the limits of your prop firm (for example 5 % daily, 10 % maximum).
  3. Set the server hour when your firm starts a new trading day.

  • Daily loss limit in % (0 = off)
  • Maximum drawdown in % (0 = off) and measured from (initial size / highest equity)
  • Initial account size (0 = balance at first start)
  • Daily profit target in % (0 = off)
  • Daily loss measured from (day-start balance / higher of balance and equity)
  • New trading day starts at (server hour)
  • Warning level in %, pop-up alert, push notification
  • Colour theme, panel position

Important

  • Prop Firm Guard does not open trades on a live chart. In the Strategy Tester it opens sample trades so you can see the guard work.
  • Use your own limits slightly below the limits of your prop firm, because prices can move between two ticks.
  • The guard works on hedging and netting accounts, with any broker.
