Steadyhand Order Panel is a manual order panel for MetaTrader 5. It places market orders only when you click Buy or Sell, and it has no automatic trading logic.
What it does
- Calculates the lot from a fixed lot, a percent of the balance at risk, or a money amount at risk
- Sets the stop loss and take profit in points, or the take profit as a multiple of the stop distance (reward:risk)
- Shows the plan before you click: lot, money at risk to the stop loss and reward:risk
- Optional preview lines on the chart for the entry, stop loss and take profit of the buy or sell side
- Break-even, close half and close all for its own positions on the chart symbol
How the lot is calculated
In the risk modes, the money at risk is divided by the loss of one lot at the stop loss, using the symbol's tick value and tick size. The lot is rounded down to the symbol's volume step and limited to its maximum lot, so the real risk is equal to or slightly below the amount you set. If the result is below the minimum lot, no order is sent and the panel tells you why. Commission and swap are not included.
Checks before every order
Before an order is sent, the panel checks the terminal connection, the Algo Trading permissions, the symbol's trading mode and session, the broker's minimum stop distance, the symbol's volume limit and the margin against free margin, and then asks the server with OrderCheck. If a check fails, nothing is sent and the reason appears in the panel's status line and in the Experts log.
Its own trades only
Every order carries the panel's magic number (an input). Break-even, close half, close all and the panel's figures (open positions, floating result, closed result of the day) use only positions with that magic number on the chart symbol. Manual trades and trades of other Expert Advisors are not touched. Close half and close all run only after a second click within 3 seconds.
Other details
- Shows the spread, time until the current bar closes and the server clock
- Close half rounds down to the volume step and skips positions too small to split
- Break-even respects the broker's stop and freeze levels
- "Today" follows the trade server's day; the start hour is an input
- Values typed in the panel are kept when you change the timeframe
- English interface; panel position and font size are inputs
Privacy
The panel uses no DLLs, makes no internet requests and writes no files. It reads only the symbol, account and position data inside the terminal.
Support
The manual explains every button, input and formula. Support is provided in the product comments and in MQL5 private messages. Each purchase includes 10 activations. The panel is tested on MetaTrader 5 for Windows run under Wine on Linux.
