Risk Mirror is a read-only risk dashboard for prop firm challenge traders and funded account holders on MetaTrader 5.
It watches your account and your open positions and does the risk arithmetic for you — daily loss limit, daily profit target, trailing drawdown, maximum drawdown and per trade position size — then shows the result on your chart. It places no orders, modifies no orders and closes no positions.
Why read-only matters
Many funded account programmes restrict or forbid expert advisors that place trades. Risk Mirror cannot break that kind of rule, because it contains no order sending code at all. It reads your account state and displays it. It is a dashboard, not a trading robot. If you want a tool that closes positions for you automatically, that is a different category of product.
What it shows you
- Today's profit or loss against your own daily loss limit and daily profit target, with the remaining room shown in your account currency
- A lockout banner across the chart when either limit is reached, so the number is impossible to miss in the middle of a session
- Trailing and overall drawdown against your firm's maximum drawdown limit, with the floor value your equity must stay above
- A warning when any open position has no stop loss attached
- A warning when your open positions, in their worst case, would take you past your own daily stop
- An optional session window banner for traders who hold themselves to fixed trading hours
Built in position size calculator
Switch on the trade planner and two draggable lines appear on the chart, one for your intended entry and one for your stop loss. Drag either line anywhere and Risk Mirror calculates the lot size for the money risk you chose, live, before you place the order. No spreadsheet, no manual point counting, and no arithmetic while a setup is moving.

It will not run on placeholder numbers
Risk Mirror ships with every account specific setting at zero. Until you enter your own starting balance, your firm's daily loss limit, your firm's maximum drawdown percentage, your personal daily stop, your risk per trade and your broker's daily reset hour, the panel displays a red notice listing what is missing and shows no risk figures at all. This is deliberate. Nobody should be reading someone else's example numbers while trading.
What it cannot do
Risk Mirror cannot close a position for you and cannot physically prevent you from placing a trade past your own limit. The lockout banner is a visual stop and it only works if you respect it. That is the trade off for staying entirely read-only: the discipline stays yours, and so does your compliance with any rule against expert advisors that trade.
Setup
- Attach Risk Mirror to any chart
- Open the Inputs tab and enter your account's real numbers
- Set the daily reset hour in your broker's server time, not your local time
Main settings
- Initial Balance — your account's starting balance
- Max Daily Loss — your firm's daily loss limit in account currency
- Max Overall Drawdown Percent — your firm's maximum drawdown as a percentage of balance
- Daily Stop — your own daily loss limit, usually tighter than the firm's
- Daily Target — optional daily profit target
- Risk Per Trade — the money risk used by the position size calculator
- Daily Reset Hour and Minute — your broker's server time reset, when the trading day rolls over
- Use Trading Window — optional session hours banner, off by default
Technical details
Platform: MetaTrader 5. Works on any symbol and any timeframe. Sends no orders. Uses no external libraries. Reads account and position data only.
