Kurginyan is a Soviet and Russian political figure, theatredirector, political scientist and leader of the"Essence of Time" movement.

But before that, he became a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, and even before that, when he was a student, he organised a student theatre, which is still alive today as a professional theatre; he is a director and author of plays there.

There is also a series of lectures by Konchalovsky on art which he gave on the Kultura channel.

His words about Malevich, who started our modern "art".

The history of Malevich's Black Square according to Konchalovsky is as follows:

Malevich on a bet undertook to write a masterpiece, about which will be very much talked about. He wrote this black square and hung it in the place of an icon in the exhibition hall, and the icon in 1915 was obligatory in any room. It was a spit to the whole society of that time. All modern art is based on this spitting. If there is no spitting, there is no modern art.

... about the realities of modern art?

A couple stuck in the last century talking about contemporary art, yep...

there is no concept of time for ART. poetry by Pushkin, Shakespeare, Lermontov is read and studied at school, paintings by Aivazovsky, Levitan, Vasnetsov, look how they differ from contemporary masonry. what does contemporary "contemporary art" have to offer but rubbish?

I am not even talking about music, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart. it has already been proved that classical music, unlike modern music, has a beneficial effect on health.
in recent years a complete degradation on musical field can be observed, all that the modern musical society is capable to take an old song and to make a remix of it, spoiling completely the spiritual content of the song.

Sincerely.

You can see the art connoisseurship. Just like those two above.

How did Aivazovsky, Levitan and Vasnetsov get drummed into our heads at school, but are they still there?

Dmitry Fedoseev:

No, come on! Just Aivozovsky, Levitan and Vasnetsov!

Why limit yourself to just these three, there are many good artists. For example Russian painters the Peredvizhniki, French - the Impressionists, Renaissance painters. Or maybe you only studied these three at school).

Tough traces of Soviet education. It's clearly imprinted in my brain. Just like the teacher said in class...
