We can add some more moral and ethical considerations to it: all modern liberal states live better than others solely by robbing their neighbours. The last 500 years for sure, and in general since the sacking of the Roman Empire. But that doesn't count. Little things.

Let me ask you, who is it that modern Germany is robbing, for example? Or, Germany's neighbour is France, so Germany is robbing France. France's neighbour is England, so France is robbing England. And England loots Germany because they are neighbours again, so the circle is closed:)

Quite right. Whereas in the Soviet Union the backward republics developed by building new plants and factories there, in the states joining the EU, on the contrary, enterprises are closing down. They are turned into appendages of raw materials and a source of cheap labour. And the developed EU member states are supplying their products there. Earlier, these countries were self-sufficient in many products, but after the accession to the EU and the collapse of their industries they were forced to buy everything at three prices from other countries. This is robbery. It is just veiled.
Make up your mind whether they had plants and factories built or lived on subsidies.
