Hi Mr Tools,

I just realized that the post is yours. Can you please upload the indicator drawing the red and blue lines on the chart? Thank you.

Bands filter

Hi Mladen,

I need your help with this Bands Filter indicator. I placed the DF dll in experts/libraries and the bdsp, lapack and mkl support in windows/system 32. The indicator still does not show on the chart. Something is wrong, maybe a mistake in the programming. Please take a look at this and try to fix it. Thank you.

Best regards,

Alex

It works on my PC

Here is how it looks like with default parameters, so there is no coding error in it.

If all the dlls are in their place I do not know what could cause the indicator not to work. All I can think of is that you could check if you have a msvcrt.dllin windows/system32 folder (or anywhere in the path) Sometimes a lack of that dll causes some dlls not to work in metatrader

Msvcrt

Hi Mladen,

Thank you for pointing that out. I do not have that file. I searched for it on the web and there are many sources selling it and some offer it for free. Some of them look suspicious and I do not want to mess up my system registry. Can you recommend me a good link? I am surprised why did the author not include this dll in the dll package he posted on the Russian mql forum. Why is this file not already included in the system32 directory of Windows 7, is it a commercial product? Please advise on how to proceed.

Best regards,

Alex

Alex,

Do not buy anything. It is a free library from Microsoft (description of it can be found here : Microsoft Windows library files - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and you can download it from Microsoft directly here : How to obtain the Visual C++ 6.0 run-time components )

As of windows 7 : I do not use it (not for work, just some fooling around with it to see how far did they get). Waiting till it becomes mature enough. But since all these dlls are 32 bit libraries you could end up with a need to install a virtual machine (frankly, I use the other way around : I run a XP and play with windows 7 in a virtual box (also free, you can download it from here : VirtualBox ) but as far as I know you can install virtual box on a Windows 7 and install a stable XP in it if no other solution can be found)

Alex not 100% sure which one but at the time was testing Atr Stops and Chandelier Stops my bet is on Atr Stops because the default color is the same as on that chart!

Interesting work Mladen,

Since you said high low prices fit very well within the bands :

Can you make this band stop indicator based on EMA deviations similar to bollinger band stops? Thanks.

Mladen ,

Could it be possible for you to make band stop indicator like bollinger band stop indicator from EMA deviation?

You said Using deviations for adapting indicators has its cost : it has to be normalized first and normalization always "deforms" values but was this not the issue with using cfb as an adaptor?

Last one ,is it possible to use the ema deviations as dynamic levels for indicators(like those ones in advanced elite)? Thanks.

Here is a EMA deviations variation of Bollinger bands stop

As of the rest : if I understand correctly by "dynamic levels" you mean dynamic zone levels. Dynamic zone levels are about probability of a value becoming some other value. EMA deviations are something completely different. Also, cfb is an indicator determining if there is a trend or not (when rising there is a trend when falling there is no trend), which again is a completely different then EMA deviations

Band Oscillator

Mladen, could you please add arrows and alerts to the asymmetrical oscillator for when the signal line crosses over the zero line. Not sure if anyone has had a play around but the oscillator seem to work well with Constant Range bars and renko bars at a 14 setting and nornal bars at 23.

thanking you

Peter

Continued from the previous post : the asymmetrical version of ema deviations band ...

_______________________

Apart from keeping the best part (the very good high low prices fit within the bands) it adds a better "feeling" of the trend since in the times of trending, the opposite band is narrowing
Now the "funny question" (as I mentioned on the previous post. If it is possible to construct bands like this with reasonable parameters (so no zillion deviations distance from the average - the default used here is a boringly usual 2 deviations) the do bands breaks exist at all? Is it possible to use any band breaking system if there are bands that are (without using extrapolations, without using any kind of "prediction", ... ) enclosing the "price action" (I use that term here even though I hate that expression) 99% of the time? And if it is so, is there any kind of randomness in the market at all?

_____________________________

Now, after these questions, one more variation of the asymmetric EMA deviations bands : the oscillator. It makes it easier to see the position of the price within the bands. Also, in this version, the central EMA line is treated as a "non-fixed" position zero line (a sort of adaptive zero line, since it is at it's relative position within the bands)
_______________________ And now, if anybody got scared that I am going to write some more about this, don't worry This is all about this subject from me for now
