Kaymar,

I'm familiar with MTreport, how did you manage to get 248 days of testing? Are your results from analyzing back test results?

thanks,

dee

I now have the tick data loaded from alpari too, Dee. Glad you mentioned the software, I think Kaymar might have missed my question. MTreport is wonderful. The time of day graphs are fantastic for analysis.

Has anyone been able to open up a demo account with COESfx's SpotTrader for less than $25k. I keep changing this to something less but it still sets it for $25k.

CT version issue

Hai ,

Thats was a wonderful contribution from your site to the forum and i was just following the thread and after your Murray EA , i got lost.

So which CT version are you using right now...

I would like to test it and take forward from there with your help.

Can you put the last version, 'cos i tried with CT185f and CT180, both of them picking up wrong trades some times.......

Thanks

Aakif

With what version? I almost myself purchased the pro version after beeing so exited about backtest but foward test proof it wrong a few times... Results from fxdd were very bad, then MIG were very good at first then when i started fiddle with the settings, i've never been able to get the same results as in the backtest... Price have to be ranging for it to work good best result seems to bet at night (EST here) but then i was trading M1 with it... From this week i try only H1. .

I think it's best performance are at scalping, but why would broker not accept it if they always make money on the spread, as it should be?? Isn't it because they don't just relay the transaction to the market but play casino with customer??? One thing for sure, if feeds are not the sames from one broker to another, brokers dampered the signal to their advantage, and probably they know how to defeat different investment method with spikes here and there...

NorthFinance Position

here you have a live chat with North Finance Support regarding scalping:

NorthFinance Support: Good day, my name is Hamed. How may I help you?

you: Heelo, just a quick question that you probably must ear a lot. Do NF allow scalping?

NorthFinance Support: we know it happens, but our dealers do not like it, and we actively discourage it

you: But it is not forbiden? I'm asking this because I'm planning on use a EA that scalps and do not want to break the rules.

NorthFinance Support: no, it is forbidden... as i mentioned, we actively discourage it..if the scalping continues with a client, he maybe stopped from trading,

you: Thanks for your help with this

I have had decent but fleeting results with the 1.85f and the Pro. However, it takes an enormous amount of time to backtest and optimize the various settings/timeframes/pairs (which can also give different results when using the exact same settings - very buggy), on top of the fact you have to realize that a live system will not trade like a system forward tested on a demofeed. I keep a journal and save all reports with notes so I can remember exact settings, and even then I cannot usually replicate one particular result. I don't think it's the fault of the EA programmer, it's the fault of an underdevelped backtesting capability within MT4.

As far as brokers not allowing scalping... the only ones who don't like it are the one's who are trading against you and they don't like EA's that scalp because they can't keep up. It's that simple. That should be the main signal to you, that your broker is a scam. Honest brokers utilize an ECN type STP (Straight Through Processing) system and make their money on commissions with their banks making money on the spread. Those types of brokers love scalpers.

I anticipate there will be a huge change in the near future in regards to the demise of these bucket shops, but they will have fleeced a huge amount of money from their victims (clients) by then.
