See RiskDeck work before you rent or buy: a short tour in MetaTrader 5's Strategy Tester.
1. Download RiskDeck for the Strategy Tester
On the RiskDeck page in the Market, use the button that downloads it for the Strategy Tester. MetaTrader 5 downloads it, and RiskDeck appears in the Strategy Tester's list of Expert Advisors.
2. Start a visual test
1. Open the Strategy Tester (View › Strategy Tester, or Ctrl+R).
2. Choose RiskDeck as the Expert, any symbol your broker offers, and a recent date range.
3. Tick Visual mode and press Start.
Without the visual window (an optimisation or a non-visual test) RiskDeck draws no panel and runs no tour.
3. The tour
In the visual window a short tour starts on its own. A card under the panel says Tour · step n of 10, and a ring shows what the tour "presses". In ten steps it opens a plan with BUY, picks the risk, moves the stop and shows the lot follow it, sends the trade with CONFIRM, closes half of it and moves the stop to break-even.
Press Skip tour, or click anything, and the panel is yours.
4. What works in the tester, and what doesn't
- Orders go to the tester's simulator, never to a broker. It replays past prices and tells you nothing about your broker's fills, spreads or speed.
- Fields can't be typed into. MetaTrader 5 doesn't pass typing on to chart fields in the tester. Set the risk with the chips and the stop and target by dragging the lines; nothing in RiskDeck is switched off. Settings says: Strategy Tester uses the defaults - change them on a live chart.
- The numbers are RiskDeck's defaults. Your own limits are set in the panel on a live chart.
- News and notifications need a live terminal. In the tester the news filter says no calendar in the Strategy Tester, and no push or e-mail goes out.
- Messages last by your own clock, not the test's: in a fast test, test time runs thousands of times faster.
5. On your own account
To see RiskDeck with your own broker, your own limits and live news, rent it for three months. It is the same product, with every setting. When you've seen enough, buy it from the same page.
