Trade only the crosses that make sense
This indicator keeps things simple: it shows EMA cross signals on your chart timeframe (LTF) only when the higher timeframe (HTF) agrees. No more chasing every cross—just the ones filtered by the bigger picture.
What you’ll see
-
Subwindow histogram (HTF momentum): green when the HTF EMA spread is growing, red when it’s fading.
-
On the price chart: your LTF short and long EMAs plus BUY/SELL arrows when a cross aligns with the HTF filter.
-
Optional alerts on the last closed bar.
How signals work (plain English)
-
HTF filter
We look at the HTF EMA spread = (short EMA − long EMA).
-
Up allowed when momentum is rising; down allowed when momentum is falling.
-
You can choose to be strict (momentum rising/falling over 3 HTF bars) or simple (just current vs previous).
-
You can also pick Momentum-Only mode to ignore HTF polarity (short above/below long) and match the histogram more closely.
-
LTF trigger
-
Buy: the LTF short EMA crosses above the LTF long EMA and HTF allows up.
-
Sell: the LTF short EMA crosses below the LTF long EMA and HTF allows down.
Quick start
-
Attach to your chart (this chart = LTF).
-
Set InpHTF (e.g., H1/H4/D1).
-
Pick your EMA periods (HTF and LTF can be different).
-
Optional: turn on alerts. Done.
Popular setups
-
Intraday: Chart M15, HTF H1. LTF EMAs 12/26, HTF EMAs 20/50.
-
Swing: Chart H1, HTF H4 (or D1). LTF 20/50, HTF 50/200.
Inputs you’ll actually use
-
HTF & price: InpHTF , InpPrice
-
EMAs: HTF_ShortEMA , HTF_LongEMA , LTF_ShortEMA , LTF_LongEMA
-
Filter style: UseStrict3BarMomentum (strict vs simple), HTF_MomentumOnly (match histogram)
-
Signals: DrawChartArrows , arrow colors/size/offset
-
Alerts: EnableAlerts (fires on the last closed LTF bar)
-
Chart lines: DrawLTFMAs , LTF_MA_Bars , line colors/style
Friendly tips
-
Want earlier entries? Set UseStrict3BarMomentum = false .
-
Want arrows whenever the histogram flips? Set HTF_MomentumOnly = true .
-
If your chart feels heavy, reduce LTF_MA_Bars or turn off the LTF lines (signals still work).
FAQ
“Why no arrow here?”
Most likely the HTF filter wasn’t allowed at that bar (e.g., momentum not confirmed yet, or HTF polarity still positive/negative). Use HTF_MomentumOnly = true to loosen it, or turn off strict mode.
“Does it repaint?”
Signals are evaluated on closed LTF bars. The HTF values update while the current HTF bar is open, so visuals can evolve until that HTF bar closes—that’s normal for multi-timeframe logic. Alerts are sent on the last closed LTF bar for stability.
