### What it is
Phoenix Gold is a multi-symbol MQL5 Expert Advisor built on a decoupled
architecture: strategy, execution, and risk management run as separate units.
It was designed for GOLD (XAUUSD), but is not tied to it — attach it to the
chart of any major pair (XAUUSD, EURUSD, USDJPY, GBPUSD, etc.), and the EMA/ATR
logic automatically adapts to the instrument.
### Trend strategy
Entries are filtered by trend regime (smoothed EMA slope) and volatility (ATR):
pullbacks toward the fast EMA within a trend, and breakouts of recent extremes.
Stops, targets, and volume are based on ATR, so position geometry scales with
market conditions.
### Fail-closed risk management (the part that matters)
The EA is designed to fail closed — it prefers NOT to trade over accepting a bad
trade. Built-in limits enforced in the code (not just in the default settings):
- MaxLot capped at 0.05 — volume can never explode on its own
- Daily loss stop (default 3%) — flat for the rest of the day
- Consecutive-loss pause: after N losing trades it halts and waits, instead of
revenge trading
- Max-spread check — refuses to trade when costs are unfavorable
- Extra cumulative drawdown guard and equity circuit breaker
These are hard-coded limits in the EA logic, so the same protection applies even
if the settings are changed.
### Validation
The strategy passed the MQL5 Market automated test suite, with zero errors and
trading operations executed in the validation suite.
### Getting started
1. Attach the EA to the desired pair's chart on a demo account first.
2. It runs immediately with the default settings (0.5% risk per trade, max lot
0.05, 3% daily stop).
3. Monitor the log panel — the EA displays its status and every decision it
makes.
