Trade Panel by RWBTradeLab
Trade Panel is an on-chart panel for MetaTrader 5 that places market, pending and straddle orders and manages the open trades of the chart symbol.
Overview
The panel sits on the chart and has six tabs: Trade, Manage, Settings, Account, Help and About. Every value you set is saved for each symbol, so a chart keeps its own lot, stop loss, take profit and switches after a restart. The panel can be dragged anywhere on the chart and minimised to its title bar.
The panel works only with the trades and orders it opens itself. It recognises them by the chart symbol and by its Magic Number (Settings tab), so trades opened by hand or by other programs are not changed.
Trade Tab - Placing Orders
The tab has four pages: Market, Limit, Stop and Straddle. Its top line shows the symbol and the current spread in pips, and a timer shows the time left until the current candle closes. Before any order is sent, the panel checks that the account's free margin can carry it; if not, an alert shows the margin needed and nothing is sent.
Market page: Sell and Buy buttons with the live prices, stop loss and take profit in pips (each can be switched off) and the lot size. The same page has a manual Break Even button and Close Buy, Close Sell and Close All Trades buttons.
Limit and Stop pages: an entry price, stop loss and take profit in pips or as a price, the lot size, the risk to reward ratio, and buttons that delete the panel's buy, sell or all pending orders of that type.
Straddle page: one click places a Buy Stop above the price and a Sell Stop below it, at a distance you set in pips. Each side can be switched on or off, both sides use the same lot, and the stop loss and take profit are set in pips from each order's own entry. Before sending, the panel checks the distance against the broker's minimum stop and freeze distance. If the broker accepts one side and refuses the other, the accepted side is deleted again, so a straddle is placed complete or not at all. A second button deletes the panel's Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders on the symbol.
The straddle has three optional functions:
- Expiry in minutes (0 = no expiry). If the broker does not accept an expiry time, the panel deletes the orders itself when they expire.
- OCO (Settings tab): when one side is filled, the other order is deleted.
- Timer: the straddle is placed automatically, once, at a time you enter on the computer clock, in 24-hour form (18:29:50) or with AM / PM (6:29:50 PM). A PC 24H / PC 12H button beside the box sets how the time is shown, and the PLACE STRADDLE button shows the countdown. If the time is noticed more than 5 seconds late, nothing is placed and an alert is shown. Placing a straddle by hand switches the Timer off.
Lot Size, Risk and Money
On every order page the lot can be MANUAL or AUTO %. In AUTO % mode the panel calculates the lot from the account balance, the risk percentage and the stop loss distance, using MetaTrader's own profit calculation for the symbol, and rounds it to the broker's lot step. With the stop loss switched off, the minimum lot is used. On the Market and Straddle pages the risk starts from the Default Risk % of the Settings tab.
Each order page also shows how much the order would lose at its stop loss and gain at its take profit, in the account currency, for the current lot. These figures do not include commission, swap or slippage.
Manage Tab - Open Trades
- Auto Break Even: when a trade reaches the set profit in pips, its stop loss moves to the entry price plus the BE Lock value (minus it for a sell). A BE Lock of 0 places the stop exactly at the entry.
- Trailing Stop: the stop follows the price at the set distance. Trail Start is the profit needed before trailing begins (0 = at the trailing distance), and Trail Step is the smallest move of the stop (0 = every tick).
- Partial Close: closes 25, 50 or 75 percent of every panel trade with one click.
- Auto Partial Close: when a trade reaches the set profit in pips, the set percentage is closed once and the rest moves to break even. The closed part is rounded down to the broker's lot step; if it would be below the minimum lot, nothing is closed and only the break even is applied.
- Close by P/L: closes all profitable or all losing panel trades.
The close, partial close and delete buttons send all their requests at once, as MetaTrader's own bulk close does; a request the broker refuses is written to the Experts tab.
These functions never move a stop loss backwards, and they only move it to a level the price has already passed, keeping the broker's minimum distance. The automatic functions run on every tab and while the panel is minimised.
Hidden Stop Loss and Take Profit
When Hidden SL or Hidden TP is switched on in the Settings tab, the level is not sent to the broker. The panel keeps it and closes the trade when the price reaches it. Break even, trailing and the straddle work with hidden levels as well, and the toggle buttons show a lock symbol while a level is hidden.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Shortcuts are switched off by default (Hotkeys in the Settings tab). When they are on and the chart is active, Shift together with a key runs a panel action: B buy, S sell, E break even, C close all trades, P place straddle, D delete straddle orders, 1, 2 and 3 partial close 25, 50 and 75 percent, A Auto Break Even on or off, T Trailing Stop on or off, M minimise or restore the panel. A key held down acts once, and the keys are ignored while a panel field is being edited. The i button beside Hotkeys in the Settings tab opens the full list.
Account Tab
Account name, number and server, balance, equity and margin, and statistics of the account's closed trades for today, yesterday, this week, last week, this month or last month: profit or loss, number of trades, profitable and losing trades, win rate, loss rate and profit factor.
Settings Tab and Pip Setting
The Settings tab holds the Magic Number, Default Risk %, sounds, Hidden SL, Hidden TP, Straddle OCO, Hotkeys and a trade comment that is added to every order.
Brokers and symbols count pips differently, so the pip size is entered by you for each symbol: Distance Price divided by Pip Value. For example EURUSD 0.00010 and 1, XAUUSD 0.10 and 1, BTCUSD 10.0 and 1. A line below the two fields shows what the setting means, such as the pip size and the money per pip for one lot, so a wrong value is easy to see. Functions that work in pips stay inactive until the setting is entered.
Inputs
- Trade Settings: default lot, take profit and stop loss in pips, Magic Number, BE Lock, Trail Start, Trail Step, and the Auto Partial Close profit and percentage.
- Straddle: default distance, stop loss, take profit, lot, expiry and OCO.
- Panel Appearance: panel position, font size and background colour.
- Advanced: keyboard shortcuts and the sound file.
How to Use
1. Attach the panel to a chart and allow algorithmic trading for it.
2. Open the Settings tab and enter the Distance Price and Pip Value for the symbol.
3. Choose an order page, set the stop loss, take profit and lot or risk, and place the order.
4. Switch on the Manage tab functions you want for the open trades.
Important Notes
- The panel places and changes orders, so algorithmic trading must be allowed in MetaTrader 5.
- Hidden levels, Auto Break Even, Trailing Stop, Auto Partial Close, OCO, the panel's own expiry and the Timer work only while MetaTrader 5 is running with the panel on the chart. While the terminal is closed, a trade with a hidden stop loss has no stop at the broker.
- Stop orders are filled at the broker's price, which can differ from the entry price in fast markets such as news releases.
- On netting accounts MetaTrader keeps one position per symbol, so orders on the same symbol are combined, and both sides of a filled straddle offset each other.
- The panel does not give trading advice. Trading involves risk, so use risk management that suits your account.
