Trendline with break

Features

• Automatic trendlines: finds swing pivots and anchors an upper (resistance) and lower (support) trendline that update as new pivots form.
• Breakout signals: prints an arrow when price closes beyond a trendline.
• One signal per segment: after a breakout, it waits for a new pivot before signaling again, which prevents signal spam.
• Adjustable slope: choose how the slope is measured (ATR, standard deviation or linear regression) and how steep it is.
• Non-repaint option: turn Backpaint off so lines start at the confirmation bar for live trading.
• Forward projection: optionally extends the current trendline as a dashed ray.

Inputs

• Swing Detection Lookback: bars each side to confirm a pivot (default 14).
• Slope Multiplier: steepness of the line (default 1.0).
• Slope Method: ATR (default), StDev or LinReg.
• Backpaint: draw back to the pivot (true) or start at confirmation for no repaint (false).
• Show Extended Lines: project the line forward (default true).
• Max Bars: calculation range (default 1000; 0 = all history).

Outputs

• Upper (teal) and lower (red) trendlines, optionally extended as dashed rays.
• Teal up-arrow on a bullish breakout and red down-arrow on a bearish breakout, printed on bar close.

Alerts

Breakout alerts can be sent as a screen popup, sound, push notification and email when an arrow prints.

Limitations

Breakouts in ranging or choppy markets fail more often; filter with the higher-timeframe trend or volume. With Backpaint on, lines redraw to the pivot for a cleaner look; use Backpaint off for non-repainting live signals. Very low lookback on high timeframes produces noisy lines.
