EA Overview
Range Vector Fibo Logic (RVFL) is an algorithmic trading system designed for MetaTrader 5 that executes a pure breakout strategy on XAUUSD (Gold). The system identifies daily price vector expansion cycles and projects Fibonacci-based targets to capture institutional momentum moves.
The core problem it solves: most breakout EAs rely on dangerous recovery systems like Martingale or grid averaging, which eventually blow accounts during volatility spikes. RVFL takes a different approach—it remains dormant during low-volatility consolidation and only enters when a confirmed price vector expansion occurs. Every trade has a predefined hard Stop Loss and Take Profit from the moment of entry. There is no averaging down, no position sizing manipulation, and no "bag-holding" through drawdowns.
This is not a high-frequency scalper. It does not trade every day. The system is built around a mathematical Risk-to-Reward ratio, meaning it accepts smaller controlled losses in exchange for capturing larger directional moves. Traders should evaluate performance over months, not days or weeks.
Strategy Logic
Vector Analysis Engine — The EA continuously monitors daily range compression and expansion cycles. It calculates the specific price vector of the current market phase and identifies threshold levels where institutional momentum shifts become statistically probable. Execution only occurs when these conditions are confirmed.
Fibonacci Expansion Targets — Instead of using arbitrary pip-based targets, RVFL projects Take Profit levels using Fibonacci expansion ratios applied to the confirmed price vector. These ratios target liquidity pools where price is statistically more likely to exhaust.
Fixed Risk-Reward Protocol — Every trade is structured with a predefined Risk-to-Reward ratio from entry. The system does not move Stop Losses to breakeven prematurely or let losers run hoping for recovery. This approach tolerates drawdown periods while waiting for the mathematical edge to compound over time.
What Is Included
Dynamic Volatility Detection — The EA automatically identifies when the market is in compression versus expansion phases. It remains inactive during noise and only executes when a true momentum breakout is confirmed, preventing overtrading in ranging conditions.
Sniper Execution Protocol — This is a pure one-shot system. No grid layers, no Martingale doubling, no position averaging. Every trade opens with both Stop Loss and Take Profit already assigned. The system accepts small losses and exits when the target is hit or the stop is triggered.
Automatic Lot Sizing — The EA calculates position size based on account balance and the configured risk percentage, ensuring consistent risk per trade regardless of account growth. A fixed lot override is available for traders who prefer manual position sizing.
Session Time Filtering — Trading is restricted to specific hours where institutional liquidity is highest. The default window (02:00–21:45 for GMT+2/+3 brokers) covers the London and New York overlap, where XAUUSD typically exhibits the strongest directional moves.
Multi-Timeframe Logic — While the EA must be attached to the M15 chart for proper execution, the underlying logic analyzes Daily candle structure to identify valid breakout vectors. This ensures trades align with higher-timeframe institutional intent rather than lower-timeframe noise.
Input Parameters
- Start_Hour / End_Hour — Defines the active trading window. For GMT+2/+3 brokers (ICMarkets, Pepperstone, FP Markets), the recommended window is 02:00 to 21:45 for XAUUSD. For GMT+0 brokers, adjust to 00:00 to 21:45.
- Risk_Percent — Automatically calculates lot size based on a percentage of account balance per trade. Set to 0.0 if you prefer to use Fixed_Lot instead.
- Fixed_Lot — Manual lot size override. Recommended for the first 1–3 months of live trading to verify performance on your broker's feed before switching to percentage-based risk.
- SL_Level — Fibonacci-based Stop Loss multiplier.
- TP_Level — Fibonacci-based Take Profit multiplier.
Configuration Presets — To help you configure the Risk-Reward parameters without manual calculation, two standard configurations are recommended based on your broker's spread and your risk tolerance:
Standard Vector Setup (Approx. 1:1.75 RR): Set SL_Level to 0.8 and TP_Level to 1.4. This is the default mathematical edge the system was built around, ideal for standard ECN spreads.
Tight-Range Precision Setup (Approx. 1:1.4 RR): Set SL_Level to 0.9 and TP_Level to 1.25. This setup is useful during periods of lower volatility or on brokers with slightly wider spreads, allowing for a slightly wider stop while maintaining a conservative profit target.
Recommended Setup
- Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold)
- Timeframe: M15 (the EA must be attached to the M15 chart for execution; it internally references Daily structure)
- Broker: ECN, Raw, or Low-Spread account types required for breakout accuracy
- Leverage: Minimum 1:100 (1:500 recommended)
- Deposit: Minimum $500 recommended to allow risk management logic to function correctly
- VPS: Mandatory — the EA must run 24/7 to manage session times and trade execution accurately
Realistic Expectations
This system is not designed for daily wins or explosive short-term gains. It operates on a mathematical edge: accepting controlled losses in exchange for capturing larger directional moves. Drawdown periods are normal and expected. The system is optimized for slow, steady, compound growth over months and years, not weekly performance metrics.
Do not judge this EA based on one week or one month of results. The statistical edge requires a sufficient sample size to manifest. If you cannot tolerate drawdowns while waiting for the edge to play out, this system is not suitable for your trading approach.
