QCL RSI Flow Candles — MetaTrader 4

QCL RSI Flow Candles transforms RSI momentum into smoothed Heikin Ashi-style candles in a separate indicator window. Candle bodies, wicks, a directional trend line and reference zones provide a visual framework for assessing momentum, pullbacks and changing conditions.

Key Features

  • RSI-based candles: View momentum through candle structure instead of a conventional RSI line.

  • Directional colors: Green candles indicate that the oscillator close is at or above its smoothed open. Red candles indicate the opposite.

  • Adjustable smoothing: Balance responsiveness with a smoother candle display.

  • Wick-based trend line: Highlight qualifying bullish, bearish and neutral conditions.

  • Reference zones: Compare momentum against upper, lower and central oscillator regions.

  • Separate-window display: Keep momentum analysis below the price chart.

  • Adjustable display history: Control the maximum number of graphical candles shown.

Reading the Indicator

Consecutive green candles can indicate sustained upward momentum, while consecutive red candles can indicate sustained downward momentum. Changes in direction and candle body size help provide context for momentum transitions.

These candles are constructed from RSI values and are not price candles.

The trend line appears below the oscillator candles during qualifying bullish conditions and above them during qualifying bearish conditions. When neither directional wick condition is met, it moves to the candle body’s midpoint and uses its neutral color.

Reference Zones

The indicator includes levels at 15, 25, 45, 50, 55, 75 and 85.

  • 75–85: Upper momentum zone.

  • 45–55: Central momentum zone.

  • 15–25: Lower momentum zone.

  • 50: Oscillator midline.

An upper or lower zone reading does not independently confirm a reversal. Strong momentum can persist near either extreme.

Input Parameters

  • RSI Period: Calculation period for the RSI values used to construct the candles. Default: 10.

  • Candle Smoothing: Smoothing applied to the candle open. Higher values produce a smoother display with a slower response. Default: 5.

  • Show Zone Shading: Enable or disable shaded reference zones.

  • Show Trend Line: Enable or disable the wick-based trend line.

  • Wick Tolerance: Maximum opposing wick size relative to the candle body for a directional trend condition. Default: 0.25.

  • Trend Line Offset: Distance between the directional trend line and the oscillator candle, measured in oscillator units. Default: 2.0.

  • Maximum Display Candles: Maximum number of graphical candles displayed. Default: 1500. This setting controls display history rather than the RSI calculation period.

Appearance Settings

The MT4 version uses graphical objects to display oscillator candles and shaded zones.

Candle colors, zone colors and reference-level colors are adjusted in the Inputs tab. Trend line colors and the midline color are adjusted in the Colors tab.

Practical Use

Combine QCL RSI Flow Candles with price structure, support and resistance, or your existing trading method. Use it to assess whether momentum supports a price move or whether a pullback is developing.

The current candle and trend line update as new prices arrive. Evaluate completed candles when assessing confirmed conditions.
