There are a huge number of different advisors in the market. Many authors offer a live signal to their product, others put up Lite (Promo) versions of their products for free (or at a greatly reduced cost). Let's look at this confrontation.

Live Signals.

Perhaps the only and biggest drawback of the signals is that there is no certainty that the signal is provided exactly from the adviser that the author offers (sometimes at a very decent price). The signal may be excellent, but it is quite possible that trading is conducted by a completely different (possibly acquired by the author himself in the same market) advisor. Yes, and there are many other ways to blur the eyes of a naive buyer who does not have the opportunity to test the adviser in real time before making his purchase. The tester is good, but in most cases it shows results that are completely different from the real ones. Almost the same "cat in a poke."

Lite (Promo) version.

- this is the case when the author provides his product with a cut-down functionality for free (or at a greatly reduced cost). Thus, it is possible to evaluate the results of the trading system in real time on a real account, which will give a complete picture of the possibility of making a profit regarding risks and other aspects of the adviser’s assessment.

Conclusion

In general, there is a place to be both the first and second option. There is, of course, also the third option, when there is no signal or Lite version. Thus advisers are least credible. After all, comments and ratings can also be cheated.
