VRD Terminal Health shows on one read-only panel whether this MT5 terminal is ready to run your EAs, and after every restart it checks that your EA charts, positions and orders came back.
EAs often stop for reasons that have nothing to do with the strategy: the connection dropped, the Algo Trading button was switched off, max bars is set to Unlimited and memory runs low, the disk fills up, or an EA chart did not reopen after a restart. Terminal Health checks these every few seconds while the terminal is running and alerts you when one needs attention.
What it checks
- Connection and ping: a warning for slow pings, and an alert when a disconnect lasts longer than your limit (30 seconds by default).
- Algo Trading button, plus whether the account allows trading and EA trading.
- Max bars in chart: a warning when it is above your threshold or set to Unlimited.
- Terminal up: how long the terminal has been running at least (counted from when the panel first loaded in this session), with a weekly restart reminder.
- Windows uptime, with a warning after a set number of days.
- Charts open and charts with nothing on them (no EA, script or indicator).
- EAs attached, by name.
- Terminal memory, machine RAM, free virtual memory and free disk space.
- Open positions, pending orders and floating result, so you know what is at stake before a restart.
- Terminal build, CPU cores, demo or real account, and whether it runs on an MQL5 VPS.
Restart check
Every minute, and when the terminal closes, it saves a small snapshot of your EA charts, positions and orders. After the next start it waits a minute, then compares:
- Clean when every EA chart is back, every saved position and order is still there, and Algo Trading is on.
- A warning when trades changed while the terminal was down, or when Algo Trading was already off before the restart.
- NOT clean, with the missing charts listed, when an EA chart did not come back or Algo Trading was on before the restart and is off now.
It also notes a terminal build change or a different account after the restart. It does not restart the terminal itself.
Alerts
- MetaTrader pop-up, push notification and email, chosen in the inputs.
- One grouped message per check, a cooldown so the same problem is not repeated (30 minutes by default), and an optional message when it clears.
- Short connection blips are shown on the panel but not alerted.
Good to know
- Read-only: places no orders and changes no terminal settings. It only writes its own snapshot file.
- No DLLs and no web requests.
- It runs inside the terminal, so it can only check and alert while the terminal is running. If the terminal or the VPS is down, the restart check reports what came back on the next start.
- Attach it to one chart per terminal. Extra copies show the same panel and do not send duplicate alerts.
- Push and email alerts use the settings in Tools > Options.
- In the Strategy Tester the panel runs, but the restart check and alerts are switched off.
How to start
- Attach VRD Terminal Health to any one chart in the terminal that runs your EAs.
- Choose pop-up, push or email alerts in the inputs, and adjust the thresholds if you need to.
- The first run saves a baseline. From then on, each restart is checked automatically.
