McGinley Trend Pullback Strategy is an automated trading system that trades only when four averages line up in trend order and price confirms against the session VWAP. It enters on a fresh alignment and on pullback bounces off the McGinley Dynamic line, and it uses a Zero-Lag EMA filter to avoid catching the first move after a reversal. Every trade has a stop loss and a take profit. It does not use martingale, grid strategies or position scaling.
Core Features
Four-Average Alignment Buy trend: EMA(13) above EMA(25) above McGinley Dynamic(65) above SMA(400). Sell trend is the mirror image. All lengths are adjustable.
Session VWAP Confirmation Price must be above (buy) or below (sell) the daily session VWAP. VWAP resets each day and is weighted by broker tick volume. Can be switched off.
McGinley Pullback Entries While a trend is established, the EA also enters when price bounces off the McGinley line and closes back on the trend side. Can be switched off.
Zero-Lag EMA Reversal Filter After a reversal, a new alignment is taken only once price closes on the correct side of the Zero-Lag EMA(65). Can be switched off.
Risk Framework Stop loss at 1.5 x ATR(14) or a fixed number of points. Take profit at a risk-reward multiple (2.0 by default). Position size from a percentage of equity (1% by default) or a fixed fallback lot.
Reversal Handling An opposite signal closes the open position, then the new direction is evaluated.
Built-In Safety Checks Lot size follows the symbol step, minimum, maximum and volume limit, and is checked against free margin before every order. Stops respect the broker's stops level, freeze level and spread. No orders are sent while the market is closed.

Trend Layer: EMA, McGinley and SMA alignment. Confirmation Layer: session VWAP and Zero-Lag EMA filter. Entry Layer: fresh alignment or McGinley pullback bounce, evaluated once per closed bar. Notes
- The 400-period average needs history. The EA reads it from the chart, so allow enough bars to load.
- VWAP uses broker tick volume (a count of price changes), not traded quantity, so results can differ between brokers.
