Key Zones Volume Profile
- Indicadores
- Versão: 1.0
Key Zones draws the price zones that matter on your chart, by itself. It marks support and resistance where price has turned more than once, and volume zones where the most tick volume has traded. Nothing needs to be drawn by hand, and the zones update as new candles close. It works on any symbol and timeframe: forex, metals, indices, crypto and synthetic indices.
What you see on the chart
- Support zones (green) below price and resistance zones (red) above price. A zone turns amber while price is inside it.
- Each zone starts at the candle that first touched it. The more times price has turned there, the stronger its colour.
- Volume zones (blue): price areas where much more tick volume traded than usual, shown when no support or resistance zone already covers them.
- POC (orange line): the price that traded the most volume over the lookback.
- Volume profile: a histogram of tick volume by price at the edge of the chart. The value area can also be shown as two dotted lines.
- A label on every zone, for example RES 7x vol 1.8x HVN: price turned there 7 times, 1.8 times the average volume traded inside the zone, and the zone sits on a high-volume area.
How it behaves
- Zones are recalculated once per candle, from closed candles only, so they do not flicker with every tick.
- By default it shows the 3 nearest zones above price and the 3 nearest below. You can switch to the most-touched zones instead.
- Zone sizes are measured in Average True Range, so the same settings work on gold, forex pairs, crypto and indices.
- On timeframes above M1, the volume is placed using smaller candles, so it lands at the prices where it actually traded inside each candle.
- It works on dark and light chart themes, and follows the chart as you scroll and zoom.
Parameters
- Zones: lookback in candles, swing strength, zone height, minimum touches, how many zones on each side of price, and nearest or most-touched zones.
- Volume: volume zones on or off and how many, how strong a volume zone must be, POC on or off, value area on or off and its percentage, and whether smaller candles are used for the volume.
- Profile: show or hide, left or right edge, width, and number of rows.
- Look: every colour, zone opacity, labels on or off, label size and label colour.
Notes
- The indicator is free. It does not open or manage trades.
- It has no output buffers and draws no chart objects that other programs can read.
- It does not calculate in the Strategy Tester's non-visual mode. Use it on a chart, or in the tester's visual mode.
- Zones show where price has reacted before. They are not a prediction that it will react again. Use them together with your own analysis and risk management.
