VWAP bands 3dv
- Indicadores
- Versão: 1.0
VWAP Sigma Bands 3DV is designed for intraday traders and scalpers who want a cleaner statistical view of price in relation to volume and session equilibrium.
The indicator combines the VWAP — Volume Weighted Average Price — with 1σ, 2σ and 3σ standard deviation bands, allowing traders to identify key areas of balance, extension, potential reversal and trend validation.
Unlike bands based only on moving averages, sigma bands provide a statistical reference of how far price has moved away from the VWAP. This helps traders understand whether the market is trading near fair value, becoming extended, or reaching statistically extreme levels during the session.
Main Uses
The central VWAP line can be used as an intraday bias reference:
- Price above VWAP: bullish bias.
- Price below VWAP: bearish bias.
- A close across the VWAP may indicate a possible invalidation of the current session bias.
The standard deviation bands help identify reaction zones:
- ±1σ: moderate pressure zone.
- ±2σ: relevant extension zone and potential reversal area.
- ±3σ: statistically extreme zone.
For mean-reversion strategies, entries around the ±2σ area can use a close beyond ±3σ as a logical invalidation reference, always combined with market structure and an additional buffer to avoid liquidity sweeps.
For trend-following strategies, the VWAP can work as a dynamic stop-loss or trailing reference. As long as price respects the correct side of the VWAP, the bias remains valid. When price crosses and closes on the opposite side, the trade idea may be invalidated.
Indicator Approach
This indicator is not intended to provide automatic buy or sell signals. Instead, it is built as a decision-support tool for traders who want to improve:
- Intraday bias reading.
- Extension zone detection.
- Potential reversal area identification.
- Stop-loss placement.
- Risk management.
- Confirmation with price structure.
Market structure should always come first. The final stop loss should be placed beyond the last relevant swing that invalidates the trade idea. VWAP and sigma bands are visual and statistical references, but they should not replace price action analysis.
Recommended Usage
For best results, combine this indicator with:
- Price Action.
- Support and resistance.
- Swing highs and swing lows.
- Liquidity zones.
- Volume analysis.
- Candle close confirmation.
In scalping environments such as M1, M5 or M15, the VWAP can be used as a dynamic exit or protection reference. Avoid placing stop losses exactly on the VWAP or directly on the bands, as these visible levels may attract liquidity sweeps.
Important Notice
VWAP Sigma Bands 3DV is a technical analysis and risk-management tool. It does not guarantee profits and should not be used as the only reason to enter or exit a trade. Every position should be managed with proper risk control, and position size should always be calculated based on the selected stop-loss level.
