MA Gap Tracker Engine is a professional MetaTrader 4 indicator designed to track the live relationship between price, the 5 SMMA, and the 13 SMMA across multiple timeframes.
This tool helps traders quickly see whether price is above or below the moving averages, whether the 5/13 MA structure is bullish or bearish, and most importantly, whether the moving average gap is expanding, shrinking, or flat.
Instead of switching through every timeframe manually, the indicator displays key MA structure information in one compact real-time panel.
What This Indicator Does
The indicator monitors the 5 and 13 smoothed moving averages and shows:
- Live price distance from the 5 SMMA
- Live price distance from the 13 SMMA
- 5/13 MA bullish or bearish structure
- MA gap expansion or contraction
- Multi-timeframe trend alignment
- Nearest MA support and resistance
- Daily high, daily open, and daily low distance
- Optional 5/13 SMMA lines on the chart
This gives traders a fast way to understand whether a move is still opening, slowing down, or preparing for a possible reaction.
Main Features
Live MA Gap Tracking
The core feature is the GAP column, which shows whether the distance between the 5 SMMA and 13 SMMA is:
- EXP — gap is expanding
- SHR — gap is shrinking
- FLAT — gap is stable
This helps traders see whether momentum is increasing or losing strength.
Multi-Timeframe MA Panel
The panel displays multiple timeframes at once, including lower and higher timeframes. This helps traders quickly compare short-term and higher-timeframe MA structure.
G5 and G13 Distance
The indicator shows the live distance between current price and the 5 SMMA / 13 SMMA.
This helps identify when price is stretched away from the moving averages or when it is returning back toward them.
MA Bias Display
The indicator marks the 5/13 structure as:
- BULL when the 5 SMMA is above the 13 SMMA
- BEAR when the 5 SMMA is below the 13 SMMA
- FLAT when conditions are neutral
This gives a quick read of the moving average regime.
Optional 5/13 SMMA Chart Lines
The tool can also display the 5 SMMA and 13 SMMA directly on the chart, with adjustable visibility, color, width, and style.
Nearest MA Support and Resistance
The bottom rows can show the nearest relevant moving average support or resistance based on current MA structure.
Daily High / Open / Low Distance
The panel can display live distance from:
- Daily high
- Daily open
- Daily low
This helps traders combine MA structure with important intraday price references.
Alerts
Optional alerts can notify traders when price touches or crosses selected moving averages.
Why MA Gap Matters
Many traders look at moving average crosses, but the gap between the averages often gives earlier information.
When the gap is expanding, momentum may still be building.
When the gap starts shrinking, the move may be weakening or preparing for a pullback.
