Quantum Scalp Momentum— Trading Guide
What This Indicator Does
The Scalping Combo is a 4-in-1 confluence indicator for MetaTrader 5. It overlays EMA9 and VWAP on your chart, monitors volume spikes and Stochastic momentum internally, then prints BUY/SELL arrows only when all four components align. A dashboard in the chart corner shows real-time status of every component.
Components at a Glance
| Component | Default | Role |
| EMA 9 | 9-period, close | Micro-trend direction |
| VWAP | Daily reset | Fair-value / institutional bias |
| Stochastic | 14, 3, 3 | Momentum & overbought/oversold |
| Volume MA | 20-period, ×1.2 | Confirms conviction behind the move |
Signal Logic
BUY Arrow (Green ▲)
All four conditions must be true on the same candle:
- Price > EMA9 — micro-trend is bullish.
- Price > VWAP — buyers control fair value.
- Stochastic trigger — either:
- %K was below 20 (oversold) and is now rising, OR
- %K crosses above %D while both are below 50.
- Volume spike — current volume > Volume MA × 1.2.
SELL Arrow (Red ▼)
Mirror of the buy:
- Price < EMA9 — micro-trend is bearish.
- Price < VWAP — sellers control fair value.
- Stochastic trigger — either:
- %K was above 80 (overbought) and is now falling, OR
- %K crosses below %D while both are above 50.
- Volume spike — current volume > Volume MA × 1.2.
Key takeaway: No arrow appears unless ALL four filters agree. This dramatically reduces false signals compared to single-indicator setups.

How to Trade — Step by Step
Entry
- Wait for a BUY or SELL arrow to print on a closed candle (not the live candle).
- Glance at the dashboard: confirm EMA trend, VWAP side, Stoch zone, and volume status all support the signal.
- Enter at market on the open of the next candle after the arrow.
Stop Loss
- BUY: Place SL 1–2 pips below the signal candle's low (or below VWAP if closer).
- SELL: Place SL 1–2 pips above the signal candle's high (or above VWAP if closer).
- Hard maximum: keep SL within 10–15 pips on M5 for forex majors.
Take Profit
Use one or a combination of:
- Fixed R:R — minimum 1:1.5, ideally 1:2.
- EMA9 cross — exit when price closes back through EMA9 against your trade.
- VWAP mean-reversion — if you entered far from VWAP, consider partial TP at VWAP.
- Opposite signal — a Sell arrow while in a Buy = close immediately.
Trade Management
- After price moves 1R in your favor, move SL to breakeven.
- Consider scaling out: close 50% at 1R, let the rest run to 2R.
Dashboard Reading
The on-chart comment updates every tick:
======================================
SCALPING COMBO DASHBOARD
======================================
EMA(9): 1.08542 [BULLISH]
VWAP: 1.08500 [ABOVE]
Stoch %K: 25.3 [OVERSOLD]
Stoch %D: 30.1
Volume: 1250 / 800 [SPIKE]
======================================
Price: 1.08542
======================================
- BULLISH/BEARISH — price vs. EMA relationship.
- ABOVE/BELOW — price vs. VWAP.
- OVERBOUGHT/OVERSOLD/NEUTRAL — Stochastic zone.
- SPIKE/Normal — whether current volume exceeds the threshold.
When all four read favorably (e.g., BULLISH + ABOVE + OVERSOLD turning up + SPIKE), expect an arrow.
Parameter Tuning Tips
| Parameter | Lower Value → | Higher Value → |
| EMA Period (9) | Faster, more noise | Smoother, more lag |
| Stoch %K (14) | More signals, more false | Fewer signals, more reliable |
| Stoch OB/OS (80/20) | Wider neutral zone, fewer signals | Tighter zone, more signals |
| Vol Multiplier (1.2) | More arrows (lower bar) | Fewer arrows (stronger filter) |
| Vol MA Period (20) | Reacts faster to volume shifts | More stable baseline |
Quick presets:
- Aggressive (M1): EMA 5, Stoch 8/3/3, Vol Mult 1.0
- Default (M5): EMA 9, Stoch 14/3/3, Vol Mult 1.2
- Conservative (M15): EMA 13, Stoch 14/5/5, Vol Mult 1.5
Rules to Follow
- Only trade with the signal. No arrow = no trade.
- Avoid news events. Skip signals 5 min before and after high-impact news.
- Respect the session. Don't scalp during low-volume Asian hours unless trading JPY or AUD pairs.
- Max 3 consecutive losses — stop for the session. Reassess.
- Never risk more than 1% per trade.
- Wait for candle close. Arrows on live candles can disappear.
- Check spread. If spread > 20% of your SL, skip the trade.
- One pair at a time when starting out. Master the rhythm before multi-charting.
What This Indicator Does NOT Do
- It does not place trades automatically — it is a signal indicator, not an EA.
- It does not guarantee profits — no indicator does. Use proper risk management.
- It does not account for news events, spread widening, or slippage.
- It does not repaint — signals are calculated on closed candle data. However, the live (rightmost) candle may show a tentative arrow that disappears; always wait for the candle to close.
