Elliott Wave Theory
This technical analysis method describes price fluctuations as recurring wave structures that reflect market participants' behavioral patterns.
Ralph Nelson Elliott identified the main types of waves:
-
Five impulse waves (1, 2, 3, 4, 5): Trend-following waves where waves 1, 3, and 5 are impulsive, while waves 2 and 4 are corrective.
-
Three corrective waves (A, B, C): Form the retracement phase, completing the market cycle.
Fundamental principles of analysis:
-
Wave 2 does not drop below the start of Wave 1.
-
Wave 3 cannot be the shortest among impulse waves.
-
Wave 4 does not cross into the price zone of Wave 1.
-
Impulse movements consist of five waves, while corrective movements contain three.
Understanding these patterns helps traders identify potential market entry and exit points.

This EA deserves 5 stars for beautiful back testing, but 1 star for live trading. I have run it on demo account of $10K for a month. It achieved 1 basket of winning trades for a gain of $600 and 4 or 5 baskets of losses draining the account down to $4K. How does a backtest show zero losing trades while live trading results in 50% losing trades? The EA is not FIFO compliant which generates errors for US brokers when it sends commands for closing trades. Sometimes orders are left open that should be closed requiring manual intervention. On the H1 time frame it may hold trades open for weeks waiting for them to become profitable, so swap charges become significant, and trading opportunities are missed so you need lots of patience. I know one month is too short a time to make a conclusive judgment but that's as much time as I was willing to test it. The developer should offer a live signal if the live results are anywhere near as good as the back testing. We know back testing can be manipulated, but that is all we have to make a judgment on before purchasing. As for support, on the two times I reached out with questions the developer did correct a bug. I regret the purchase because at this point I don't trust the EA enough to use on live account, but will remain open to further testing and review if there are more updates.
