HybridEMA SmartRecovery

HybridEMA SmartRecovery is an MT5 Expert Advisor that combines trend-based entries with a recovery grid on one side and profit trailing measured in USD. It was built for XAUUSD (Gold), and it works on any symbol once the point-based settings are adjusted.

How it works

1. Filtered first entry. The EA opens its first order only when market conditions are suitable:
   • The fast EMA (10) and slow EMA (20) set the direction: BUY when the fast EMA is above the slow one, otherwise SELL.
   • The ADX filter requires trend strength of at least 25. It can be turned off.
   • The ATR filter requires a minimum volatility in points. It can be turned off.
   • The spread filter blocks entries when the spread is too wide.
   • A cool-down period applies after each basket closes.
2. Smart recovery grid. If the price moves against the basket, the EA adds orders in the same direction only. Each new order opens a fixed step (300 points by default) away from the furthest existing order. Lot sizes follow a built-in progressive table of 50 steps, starting at 0.01. The table can be scaled with one multiplier.
3. USD basket trailing. The basket profit includes swap and commission. Trailing works in two modes:
   • Single order: trailing starts at $0.80 and closes the basket on a $0.30 pullback from the peak. A hard take-profit closes it at $5.00.
   • Two or more orders: trailing starts at $2.00 and closes on a $0.50 pullback. A hard take-profit closes it at $10.00.

Built-in protection

• Drawdown exit: closes the basket when its loss reaches a set percentage of the balance (default 30%).
• Margin-level guard: skips recovery orders that would push the margin level below the limit.
• Emergency stop-loss: sent to the broker together with each order, so it stays in place even if the terminal goes offline.
• Safety checks: free margin and volume are checked before every order, and the EA pauses automatically when the market is closed.
• Account types: works on both hedging and netting accounts.

Recommendations

• Symbol: XAUUSD. The EA uses the chart's timeframe for its indicators.
• Account: a cent account, or a balance of at least $1,000 per 0.01 starting lot.
• Server: a VPS with low spread and low latency is recommended.
• Before going live: test in the Strategy Tester and on a demo account first.

Key inputs: EMA, ADX and ATR settings, recovery step, max orders, lot multiplier, USD trailing (single and multi), max drawdown %, minimum margin level, emergency SL cap, magic number and comment.

Risk notice. This EA uses a recovery grid in which lot size increases on adverse moves (martingale-type). That can produce a large drawdown during strong one-way trends. Use only money you can afford to lose. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
