### Overview

Aggregating oscillators by summing their raw values is a frequent methodological error: each has a different scale and distribution, so the most volatile dominates the sum and the others count for little or nothing. The result is an indicator that looks composite but effectively reflects only one. This indicator computes four independent oscillators, deliberately built on different principles so as not to measure the same thing four times, and makes them comparable by converting each into its own historical percentile rank. Only after that conversion are the four values aggregated. The consensus is not the average of the values but the count of how many oscillators agree: it is a measure of agreement, not of intensity, and the two are operationally different.

### How the calculation works

1. The first oscillator measures the close position within the recent range.

2. The second measures the relative strength between the sum of advances and the sum of all absolute changes.

3. The third measures the deviation from the mean, related to the average deviation of the window.

4. The fourth is plain momentum, which unlike the other three is unbounded and measures the absolute change.

5. Each is converted into its own percentile rank over the InpRankWindow window: this step is what makes them comparable.

6. The consensus is the vote balance rescaled to percentage, and is coloured only when at least InpMinVotes oscillators agree.

### How to use it

- Treat as tradable only contexts where at least three of four oscillators agree: that is where consensus has value.

- Full consensus with four agreeing votes is a rare condition, statistically more significant than a single extreme oscillator.

- The average rank line shows intensity, while the histogram shows agreement: these are different pieces of information.

- A consensus dissolving while price continues in the same direction is a weakening warning.

- Lowering InpMinVotes to two makes the indicator far more talkative but also far less selective.

### Who it is for and on which timeframes

It suits traders who use several oscillators and want to aggregate them in a methodologically sound way instead of watching them separately and deciding by intuition. It works from M15 to D1. The percentile rank conversion is the heart of the indicator and is worth understanding, otherwise the advantage over four oscillators side by side is not obvious. It requires no advanced mathematical background, though: the percentile concept is enough.

### Practical example of reading a signal

On GBPUSD H4 price falls. The range oscillator is in the low zone, the relative strength one too, but the deviation from the mean is still central and momentum barely below average. Only two of four votes agree: the histogram stays grey and flags nothing. The trader waits. Two bars later the other two also enter the low zone: four agreeing votes, the histogram turns coloured at its maximum value. The difference between the two moments is not in price, which had already fallen, but in the fact that four independent measures now describe the same condition, making it far less likely to be an artefact of a single formula.

## Advantages / strengths

- It fixes a frequent methodological error, summing oscillators with different scales and distributions.

- The four oscillators are built on deliberately different principles, so they do not measure the same thing four times.

- It separates agreement from intensity, two pieces of information composite indicators usually conflate.

- A single histogram summarises four measures, reducing chart clutter.

## Limitations and warnings

- The four oscillators, though built on different principles, remain correlated: the consensus is less independent than it looks.

- Computing four percentile ranks per bar is heavier than a single oscillator.

- The consensus can take only nine distinct values and therefore moves in steps.

- The consensus arrives by construction after the fastest single oscillator: more reliable but later.

**No repaint:** values printed on a closed bar are never modified afterwards.
