NightOwl Range Radar — Hunt the Session Break Before It Happens.
Every session opens the same way: price coils inside a tight window, then explodes. The traders who profit aren't the ones reacting to the breakout candle — they're the ones who already have the range mapped, the breakout triggers marked, and the profit targets projected before the first impulsive move even begins. NightOwl Range Radar was built to give you exactly that: a precision opening-range mapping engine for up to five independent trading sessions, running silently on your chart, updating in real time, and never repainting a completed box once it closes.
At its core, NightOwl Range Radar watches the market during a start and end time you define — London Open, New York Pre-Open, New York Cash Open, the Asian session, or any custom window you choose — and calculates the true highest high and lowest low reached during that window. It converts that range into real pips, correctly adjusting for both standard 4-digit brokers and 5-digit/3-digit JPY pricing, so a 17-pip range is never mistakenly displayed as 170. Once the session closes, the indicator checks that range against your own minimum and maximum pip thresholds for that specific session. A tight, low-volatility open and an unusually wide, news-driven open are not the same trading environment — NightOwl Range Radar tells you immediately which one you're looking at, marking the box VALID or INVALID and color-coding it on the chart so you never waste a setup on conditions outside your edge.
For every valid box, the tool goes further than simply drawing a rectangle. It plots long and short breakout entry levels offset by your chosen buffer, an optional stop-loss reference on the opposite side of the range, and four fully independent take-profit projections calculated as direct multiples of that session's actual range — not a fixed pip value, not a percentage guess, but a true reflection of that day's volatility. A 20-pip London box and a 34-pip New York box will generate entirely different, session-specific projection levels, exactly as they should. All five boxes run these calculations completely independently: different session times, different validity thresholds, different entry buffers, different TP multipliers, side by side, with zero shared or hard-coded settings.
Because serious traders backtest before they risk live capital, NightOwl Range Radar was engineered around one non-negotiable rule: a completed historical box never changes. The high, low, validity, and every projected level for a past session are locked the moment that session closes and will not shift, redraw, or repaint as new price data arrives — so what you see when reviewing last week's charts is exactly what would have printed in real time. Load up to twenty or more historical sessions at once to visually study how price has behaved around your defined windows, day after day, without a single misleading repaint.
Time-zone handling is built to remove the single most common source of error in session-based tools. Configure every box in pure broker time, or enter a time-zone offset — including fractional offsets — so your session times are always aligned to your intended zone regardless of which broker or server you're connected to, and regardless of daylight-saving shifts on historical data.
A professional on-chart dashboard keeps every active session visible at a glance: current status, live-forming range, and final VALID or INVALID verdict for each box, color-coded and continuously updated, without cluttering your price action. Optional alerts — popup, sound, and push notification, each independently switchable — notify you the instant a box completes and again the instant price triggers a long or short breakout level, firing once per event so your terminal never spams you on every tick.
NightOwl Range Radar does not place trades, modify orders, or touch your account in any way. It is a pure analysis and visualization tool, designed to hand you a clean, objective, non-repainting map of session volatility so that your own trading decisions — discretionary or systematic — are built on accurate structure rather than guesswork.
