Prop Firm Guardian keeps your account limits, drawdown and target visible in one MetaTrader 5 panel and acts when a configured limit is reached. It monitors positions and pending orders on all account symbols, including trades opened manually or by other Expert Advisors.
Key features
- Daily loss limit based on start-of-day balance, equity or the higher of the two.
- Maximum drawdown: static, equity trailing, balance trailing, or trailing with the floor capped at the initial balance.
- Account profit target with lock (optional, disabled by default).
- Safety buffer (default 80%) that triggers protection before the hard limit is reached.
- Daily reset in server time, UTC or CET/CEST.
- Optional limits: maximum lot, entries per day, simultaneous positions, risk per trade at the stop, mandatory stop loss with a grace period, known open risk compared with the remaining limit room.
- Optional weekend and Friday close windows and high-impact news filter (MT5 economic calendar).
- Best-day share (consistency) and trading-day count for context.
- Generic presets (1-step trailing, 2-step, instant trailing lock, conservative custom) plus fully custom rules.
- Compact/expanded movable panel, dark/light theme, English/Russian interface; push, popup and sound alerts.
How it works
When a loss limit or the account target is reached, the utility closes all account positions and deletes pending orders, then keeps closing any new entries while the lock is active. A daily lock releases at the next observed reset. Total-drawdown and target locks require a confirmed manual release after the condition has cleared. State is stored per account and survives terminal restarts; deposits and withdrawals adjust the reference balances.
Main inputs
InpPreset, InpInitialBalance, InpDailyLossPct (5), InpDailyBase, InpMaxDDPct (10), InpDDType, InpSafetyBuffer (80), InpProfitTargetPct (0 = off), InpResetTime / InpResetTimeZone, InpMaxTradesDay, InpMaxLot, InpMaxRiskPerTradePct, InpRequireSL / InpRequireSLSec, InpMaxPositions, InpConsistencyPct, InpMinTradingDays, InpBlockWeekend, InpFridayCloseMin, InpNewsBlock / InpNewsMinutes / InpNewsCurrencies, panel and alert settings. A value of 0 disables an optional limit.
Important notes
- Run one instance on one chart in one connected terminal with Algo Trading enabled. Keep the terminal running through the daily reset so the correct equity snapshot is recorded.
- The utility acts after an order is filled; it cannot stop the broker from accepting a trade. Gaps, execution costs, closed markets and disconnections can affect protection.
- Presets are generic examples, not the current rules of any named firm. Always match the settings to your provider's rules.
- The tool does not generate signals and does not guarantee rule compliance or results.
