You have forgotten the most important thing we give for this commission - direct access to millions of terminals.
That's a dubious advantage. I can hardly imagine anyone surfing the web through a terminal. Browsers for what? Maybe there are such ardent idolaters of MT, ready to make coffee through it, but I don't think there are many of them.
As a design, we give huge opportunities: a powerful html editor, screenshots, videos and news. To understand this, just look at the AppStore and Google Play shops - these are real limitations on the level of Twitter's capabilities.
Well, I went to the mentioned Google Play. Screenshots there are uncut, in high resolution. The size of the description is also unlimited, as I understood, because I met quite long descriptions there.
You have:
- Pictures are cut down to 640x480. I tried to cram something in there - only half of the chart fits, and it is not always possible to fit all the necessary information on this piece. And if the whole chart is recoded in low resolution, it's hard to make out something, everything is blurred. Plus requirements to use only certain colour scheme and other restrictions.
- short description
- you can't link to other resources. Otherwise I would put the documentation there and no problem.
So all the comparisons are not in your favour. And it is puzzling: why create these artificial restrictions (sucked out of a finger), put sticks in the wheels of sellers, if you should be interested in sales?
Plus, your moderators, as I understand it, have a standard working mode 5/8 (since yesterday evening nobody has answered me). So it is impossible to publish a product or make any changes until Monday. This approach to business is very surprising. "You want to sell something from us? Well, sorry, we have lunch, come back after the holidays".
you can't post links to other resources. Otherwise I'd put the documentation there and no problem.
Where is the information coming from?
MQ themselves used to offer to link to their site/blog. All the more reason not to remove the link to the documentation (just don't put it on a resource that can somehow advertise something).
The article about preparing the description(https://www.mql5.com/en/articles/557) explicitly mentions an external link:
Trading Strategy
After a brief description, tell in detail the essence of your Expert Advisor/indicator strategy. There is no character limit here, but it is better not to abuse large volumes. Here, describe in detail for which instruments/markets/currency pairs your Expert Advisor is optimised, on which timeframes it is better to place it. Briefly explain the algorithms and the system of mani-management, which are embedded in your trading strategy. If necessary, insert an external link to a more detailed description of the algorithms.

Eh, you haven't sold anything and have no idea that selling is much harder than creating a product. Typical developer mistake.
Apple revolutionised marketing with their Appstore. Direct access to the marketplace right on the device is an extremely important element for a sales system. Collecting money is the next most important item.
Chances are you just take having a marketplace for granted as a service.

The thing is that unlike you, I fill these stores all the time and I know what I'm talking about.
We have more opportunities in the store, especially in terms of rich editor, where you can insert a lot of things.

What does access "directly on the device" have to do with it? We were talking about the terminal, not the device. You said that supposedly the main advantage of the market is "access to millions of terminals". The analogy with mobile gadgets is inappropriate here, because these gadgets are designed for this purpose, i.e. they fulfil their role. For surfing the Internet there are special programmes designed for this purpose. Why do you think it is more convenient to surf the site through a tiny window in a metatrader instead of opening a convenient and familiar browser (which every user has) and enjoying all the conveniences.
You can make a poll on the forum, through what people prefer to go to the Market, and whether they need your "bicycle". It seems to me, more effective would be just a link with the word "Market" in the terminal, when clicking on which would open a page in a normal browser.
I certainly do not dispute your experience in sales, but I do not agree with your phrase"selling is much more difficult than creating a product". If you create a product that people really need and demand, then sales should not be a problem. Take, for example, the indicator that I keep trying to post. For a long time various people have been pestering me on the forum, in private, in Skype, asking me when I will finally finish it, expressing various wishes, some people buy raw versions. And I have not publicised this development before. I just put the first versions on codebase and that's all. And people really needed it. That's all. That's why I know that there will be no problems with sales.
The product itself is primary, but not how aggressively you sell it. What's my indicator...? Is your Metatrader not selling well? Is it much harder to sell it than to make it? I think it was in demand from the very beginning.
The thing is that unlike you, I fill these stores all the time and I know what I'm talking about.

So what is this to say? You refute my words that Google has high resolution of pictures (and you have low), Google has a long description available (and you do not), am I wrong? Or what?
And rich-editor is just as good for long texts, with many subsections, with complex lists, tables, etc. So here it is of little use, its potential is not revealed.

The terminal is the device.
I'm afraid you don't even closely understand the topic raised. A trader does not go beyond the terminal and certainly does not come to any Market for programs. He usually knows nothing about experts for the first six months.
Having direct access to the list of programmes and the "buy" button is a mandatory requirement in platform marketing (MetaTrader is the same platform as iPhone/iPad or Android).
No need to argue, please. You are infinitely distant from this topic.
Killed. And to the death.
I'll try you too - think about the fact that marketing and sales costs are usually many times (often many times) more expensive than product development. When it comes to mass/retail sales. And about successful sales, not "another 100500 startup with a great product failed to realise that marketing and sales are more important than the product".
So what is this to say? You are refuting my words that Google has high resolution images (and you have low), Google has a long description available (and you do not), am I wrong? Or what?

We do not have a limit on the length of the description. Unlike others.
You made up the problem with screenshots. You can always cut out and show in a series of 640x480 screenshots what you need. To do this, you should not use the"Print Screen" button in full size, but select the necessary pieces for demonstration.
Usually authors do not realise that to demonstrate the idea 80% of the space of their screenshot is superfluous or filled with the wrong thing. All it takes is enough thought and you can fit it in very nicely.
Pardon me for interfering, but could someone please explain to me what " rich description" is and if there is any limitation in "Description"? I haven't come across it yet in the simpler releases of the library, but I'm working on a library with more features now, I'd like to know what to be prepared for.
Thanks.
Pardon me for intruding, but could someone please explain to me what is " rich description" and is there still some limitation in "Description"?
Thank you, that's clear.
Now I would like to understand if there is a limitation, because the opponents say opposite things.
I came across the fact that my product description exceeds the limit of 3600 characters.
