On MT5 tab, go to help (last option on the right hand side), all the way down appear upgrade beta. If you got frozen when its open, try to eliminate or quit your lot calculator or the indicator you got on it. Then upgrade it.
If it does not help, change all the font from your lot calculator to Arial, that worked for me. 
 
Same here Mt5 does not work after the newest update my computer hangs and freezes cant even open the MT5. same problem Mt5 lags so much I have to use my phone all the time to put in trades. I find myself having to do a new install every time. is there a way to block updates? because i have had enough my accounts are blowing because i am unable to manage my trades.

Just update to the beta version. This time it makes sense, since the latest release build has performance issues (which have already been fixed in beta build 5574).
 
This update also broke magickeys, I had to remove it from every chart, disable Algo trading and delete the EA for it and it still has some lag when chaging charts.

Use the latest beta or downgrate to build 5430 -

You must use the previous version 5430 or the latest beta 5574, in which all these errors are corrected.

Always lagging, 5574
 
My charts are all blank since update. Not sure if it's linked but now, I can't open my VPS to try and fix MT5 update issues so my EA's can start trading again. waiting for Forex VPS support to reply back about issue
