Latest MT5 update causes lag/freezing only when using my indicators/template - page 2

If I understand correctly, the update will only be installed after restarting the terminal. Try installing 5430 and not restarting the terminal while the developers fix bugs in the recent release.

you are right, however, on this laptop i do not leave mt5 open, so i have to install 5430 after every time that I have closed mt5 and the update has been pushed!

The broker has suggested going back to 5518 which has been reported to them, that it hasnt the issues; however, they confirmed that the newer update will continue to be pushed to me.

In that community they basically gave the solution.
You should follow these steps if you

how can i change the fonts of my EA before the terminal loads?? since its unresponsiv eonce it loads... it seems like the problem is specific to those using the EA position sizer.
Since
Build 5570 freezes before you can access settings, you must modify the Position Sizer EA configuration through the terminal's backend files while the platform is closed.
Method 1: Rename/Move the EA Folder (Quickest Fix)
If you cannot open MT5 because the EA loads and immediately freezes the terminal, prevent it from loading entirely:
  1. Navigate to  %APPDATA%\MetaQuotes\Terminal\[Terminal_ID]\MQL5\Experts .
  2. Find the Position Sizer folder and rename it (e.g., to  _Position Sizer ).
  3. Launch MT5. The charts will load, but the EA will fail to initialize, giving you a responsive terminal.
  4. Once MT5 is open, you can then try to load a "clean" chart and re-attach the EA with safe font settings.
Method 2: Edit the Chart Template (Bypass Interface)
MT5 stores active EA inputs in its profile or template files. You can manually strip the EA from the startup sequence:
  1. Go to  %APPDATA%\MetaQuotes\Terminal\[Terminal_ID]\MQL5\Profiles\Charts\Default .
  2. Open the  .tpl  (template) file for your active chart using Notepad.
  3. Search for the section labeled  <expert> .
  4. Either delete the entire  <expert>...</expert>  block or manually change the font-related values if you can find them (e.g.,  FontName=Arial ).
  5. Save the file and restart MT5.
Method 3: Reset the Terminal Configuration
If the issue is widespread across all charts, you can force the terminal to "forget" its current state:
  1. Go to  %APPDATA%\MetaQuotes\Terminal\[Terminal_ID]\config .
  2. Delete the terminal.ini file.
  3. This forces MT5 to open with a default blank workspace, allowing you to re-add the Position Sizer to a fresh chart with standard fonts (like Arial or Verdana) instead of the custom fonts causing the rendering deadlock.
Why Position Sizer specifically?
The Position Sizer EA relies heavily on custom graphical objects and fonts for its panel. Build 5570's new Blend2D engine has a confirmed bug where it enters a "deadlock" when trying to render certain text objects or symbols (like the thumbs up/down icons), causing the 100% CPU spike you are seeing. Switching the EA's font to a system-standard font is a known community workaround for this specific build.

It's freezing for me too. I cant use my magic keys. The templates with it freezes. However if i load blank templates  its fine.

Yes same issue with me, after Update my pc got hanged each time I login .
