Latest MT5 update causes lag/freezing only when using my indicators/template - page 13

The main reason I am bringing this issue to the forum is that I strongly suspect there might be an underlying "bug" or inefficiency within the MetaTrader 5 application itself when handling complex calculations in these highly volatile markets.

Expounding upon what Alain Verleyen has already said in Post #120, it's not necessarily accurate to say that an update to the way in which the terminal handles an MQL5 code element (or elements) is a "bug." Terminal updates are a regular and mandatory occurrence for any software product that is not stuck in the stone age.

Respectfully, "suggested solutions and workarounds" from a product developer are not a developer code update. The fact that your problem originates only from highly active charts points toward custom code execution inefficiency. I should note that the Market Rules require that:

  • The Seller shall fix all critical errors detected in the Product, which result in the early termination of the Product operation (§13).
  • In case the developers of the MetaTrader platform make changes in the MQL5/MQL4 language, the Seller shall make appropriate modifications in the Product to maintain its stated functionality (§14).
  • The Seller has no right to demand a fee for the fulfillment of the terms specified in paragraphs II.12, II.13 and II.14 of these Rules (§15).
As a common courtesy, you should probably remind your Seller of those terms prior to potentially submitting a complaint to the Service Desk.

i have had similar issues with some codes, and the fix was to find out the exact version of mt5 that the dev/seller had coded the indicator in, and then i had to download that exact same version of mt5.

It made no difference that i had the most recent release -- downgrading to previous "release verion" did not fix it either. I had to use the exact same beta version of mt5 that the indicator was developed in -- to have full features and no freezing.

That Seller deserves the dunce cap. Coding in Beta MT5 is not the end-all be-all. Although the resultant code will be ahead of the curve, testing in the latest Release MT5 is required as part of the development process. What kind of ding dong flips code directly from an experimental platform onto the Market?
