Stepan Demura is a popular Russian economist known for his apocalyptic predictions.

  • He was born in 1967. He graduated with honours from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) (majoring in rocket engineering) and the University of Chicago (USA, Illinois).
  • He has been working on financial markets since 1992. He started as a developer of trading systems. More than 12 years he worked in USA, taught in University of Chicago.
  • From 1994 to 2001 he was a trader and analyst of US Government bond derivatives.
  • Since 2004 he lives and works in Russia, head of the analytical departments at TPA Arlan.
  • Since 2008 he has been an asset manager at the financial company Russian Investment Club.
  • In March 2008, he accurately predicted the global and Russian crises in the RBC Markets television programme.
  • 2010 - 2013 - analyst and anchor of RBC TV channel. He was dismissed for assessing his colleagues as unprofessional.
  • Since January 9, 2013, hosts the programme Paradox on Finam-FM radio station.
