Trading on PIP Range Bars !! - page 9

alright:
Other strage thing just noticed: there's no arrows displayed, no matter how backward I move the chart. The picture in my previous post was on EJ, an there was only a couple of arrows displayed...

Don't know how that comes, but even without these arrows, you could see two long positions when leaving the clouds (the first one is a nice one) on your chart.

Gilbert, I was just wondering if you have a different version of Double MA, since other people are experiencing the same problem. Can you please post yours here again? When should the arrows appear anyway? When the MAs cross each other maybe? Thanks

Hi Desander and all other readers. I am a big fan of pip range bars myself, but am struggling to get to grips with this system. My key concern is the amount of chopping and changing that I have observed by speed reading this thread. Can I ask, is anybody actualy trading this system (and hopefully making money from it)? The pictures posted are very encouraging, but I do ask myself how successful these setups are in real time and are not just being curve fitted after the event? Another point is the fact that it is on the 2 range bar. I am definitely a fan of being 'at the rock face', but of course it can be very dangerous! Has anybody tried on different ranges? Desander. Without wishing to sound offensive, are you a trader yourself? If so, what sort of experience do you have? Thanks in advance.

I am a scalper, therefore i need speed in change, i do this for the living.

If you feel better by not having these heavy jumps, look for 4-6-8 or higher PIP range bars.

The system will work on every range frame.

Here i give you 3 versions of this indicator.

Try them out by setting the same parameters and enable "showArrows"

Thanks for the help, Alright! I managed to deal with the template on my own, although it still gives me an error when I try to attach, probably because I do not have the indicators. When I try to add indicators, just like you told me, it still gives an error, saying that it cannot be imported, might be corrupted, and central directory cannot be found. If you unzip the file, what is the extension that you get? I think there is something wrong with my WinRar, because when I open both templates and indicators zip's, the files in there have only the name, without any extension. So, to get the template running, I had to add .xml to it.

The unzipped files names are like this ATRTrailingStop.cs

They're in this folder C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX\My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin\Custom\Indicator

I'm not sure if just unzippingg them in that folder will help. You can try

Just changed two parameters :

- Set SMA-Flat (SMA_Colors) on Transparant

- Set EMA_Colors "calculated on bar close" = TRUE

Gives less clouds but keeps filtering very well and cloud only appear on bar closed.

Ok, done that (though I cannot see what it did!)

I would really like to change or delete the blue band.... where is it Gilbert? I cant find it!

Take (replace by) an other ECO-indicator.

Gilbert, still trying to solve the arrows mystery. I wonder, would you mind taking your template and uploading here again? There seems no logical reason it should not work, arrows are activated to show.

No need to zip, just change the extension, and we can change it back to .xml when we have downloaded.

Some of us have been chasing our tails all day!
